Petition/Vote for Bungie to Drop PvP Support
I'm not one for petition style threads, but frankly after the last update / open-house, I want to get a general basis on how large the outrage over the obvious lack of PvE support in the game, and how much of the community wants action over it.
So easy enough, Sign/Vote Fully In Agreement if you agree that Bungie should drop all support for PvP (No more updates for PvP) and focus only on the PvE side of the game, reverting all prior nerf patches to the game and only listening to PvE players and our wants from this point forward.
Sign/Vote Partial Agreement if you think Bungie should drop ~75% of PvP support, give PvE players full precedence over PvP players when it comes to game updates, and to not perform any more PvP based nerfs to the game. They can still provide updates to them that manipulates global gun balance, but it would have to be put before a community vote beforehand.
And lastly, Sign/Vote No Agreement if you disagree.

This thread isn't a "they must do this" thread (I would have clearly posted, Vote yes if Bungie needs to kill PvP support otherwise), I am forming an opinion of the community from the basis of thought, ergo, this is an opinion poll.

Bungie needs to pull their heads out and separate Crucible / PvE balance. Also, Crucible merits more attention than PvE because it's terrible.

This thread is disappointing. Where do I vote to stop PvE casuals from whining about PvP? The synergy between the 2 is what keeps a lot of us playing by the way.

Bungie should have released all these bullshit "timed PVP events" like Inferno at the release instead of the shit they're pulling. The only thing PVP players would need is their fulfillment of weapon nerfs. It's not hard to please PVP players. As long as they get to shoot other players. IF that was done that way, they could then focus more on PVE aspects and it would be more balanced IMO. But god forbid Bungie do anything with this game that even makes half a bit of sense. Of course, I can't put all the blame on Bungie alone. I know Activision plays a large roll in this and what's been happening in particular lately.

5 RepliesAs much as I want PvP for all games to crawl into a dark pit of doom and burn to death for all time I know it wont happen. PvP in Destiny is too tightly ingrained with the PvE bounties for it to be removed unfortunately. If all support for it were dropped then there would still be mass anger on forums and in the game itself. Dropping PvP support isn't a solution, what is however is the PvE devs getting off their asses and showing up to answer questions and read suggestions like the PvP devs have been doing. PvE should be the focus of any game in my eyes. PvP has no background. It is mindless mashing of players against players with no real purpose. PvE provides purpose for the gamer. It provides background, reasons for why things are in the game, character development... really the list could keep going and going. It is a shame that PvE thus far has largely been ignored. I would prefer that the effort they put into PvE be swapped with the effort in their PvP. Perhaps give PvP a little more attention than what PvE is getting now just so players don't get their panties in a twist.

Even in games like WoW that have had years of content. When I play an MMO (let's be honest that's what destiny wants to be) and there is no PvP element It doesn't hold my interest for long at all. People like to be competitive. It's the nature of the beast, get over yourself.

Again, please read before posting. This is an opinion poll not a direct petition. I only included that in the thread title because it feels worded that way. I'm gathering information here from the community to see what everyone is thinking on the manner. Comments are great too, it's a good judge on what you believe.

There is no reason to get rid of PvP. Getting rid of PvP is a short sighted opinion. There are many players that like the PvP of this game and love to play it. discontinuing support for PvP would alienate many players in the Destiny community. I understand that you are frustrated, but getting rid of PvP is not a viable solution.

2 RepliesI think their lack of PvE support is pathetic, and I never PvP, but I voted no agreement. Their sandbox team needs to get off their asses and think, and their PvE team needs to do something, but none of that is their PvP team's fault.

2 RepliesThis is probably one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on here and I've seen a ton of whining. I understand the frustration for lack of PvE support with updates and content, it's incredibly annoying and dumb. But to make a petition for them to stop updating PvP all together because that's what the last patch mainly focused on is absurd. I want them to better distribute patches between both sides of the game, but having them stop working on half the game is completely ridiculous. There should be more focus on PvE support and I'm sure we'll get more soon and as the game comes along. I guarantee they'll have a PvE focused open house in the coming months. Even if this post had 100% for "yes- let half the game be broken because I play PvE more than PvP therefore the developers should bend to my wants and needs" they're not going to stop updates or support for PvP at all. If anything they'd laugh and wonder how people can be so self absorbed and entitled. I hope they distribute updates between both sides of the game in the future, I know they'll get better at it. But alienating half the game and a giant portion of the player base just because you play PvE more is ridiculous. Currently PvP matters are more pressing and complained about, that's why they've had more focus on it. Plus they had to focus on Crota's End and all it's problems before this patch, so now they're focusing on the other side of the game. But they'll get back to fixing PvE problems more aggressively soon.

I said no because that would be incredibly unfair to those who bought the game for pvp. They should work on pvp balance separately from pve, and sometimes I feel like there's a bias towards pvp even though the pvp'ers make up 10% of the players. And I really hated being forced into the crucible for bounties. may be they should only allocate 10% if the resources to pvp to be in line with player preference though.

I agree that the open house should have had developers for the PVE part of Destiny but I want support for both. I don't play a lot of PVP but that's just me, what about other people that do? Bungie needs to show support for both the PVE and PVP communities. Just because I don't prefer PVP doesn't mean Bungie should stop supporting it.

Sorry, but I don't agree with: "only listening to PvE players and our wants from this point forward." Yes, Bungie should give the PVE community some support, but not at the complete expense of the PVP community. That is coming from a PVE-only person.

PVP is fundamentally broken anyways. If they can't stop lag switches even marginally or any other hack, glitch, or cheat, why should any of us care about it.

1 ReplyClan wars are coming... Guardians have to be ready for [i]new[/i] events. Environment isn't as easy as you think. PvP much easier....just make a map, tweak a few rules/settings and boom, new game mode. Imo, future PvE events will have to incorporate PvP more...there is a delicate balance to merging the two. I think that is what Bungie is slowly trying to do...baby step you into pvp. Then, throw you into a hardcore PvP environment w/ ai to fight too. Honestly, you'll have the most fun doing those type of events. Whether you physically fight, or are supporting a team as a healer or something, these events always blew my mind. So fun!
