Elemental Shields for Guardians! (PLEASE READ!!!)

I'm sure this idea has been driven to be implemented into the game. Why not add elemental shields to specific armor types? Obviously you could not be wearing all three types at once but let me go into some detail. Say you choose to use a solar shield. The rest of your armor containing arc and void shields will then become unable to equip. Wearing 1 out of the 4 pieces of armor devotes towards 8.25% of the shield. Wearing all 4 armor pieces would yield a full solar shield at 25% strength towards resistance. These would work inversely to the way aliens' shields work in nightfall. Meaning, that if I had a full armor set of solar resistant armor, enemies that shoot with solar weaponry would inflict less damage. Now, of course, as I am sure many of you can see, there would be problems with this proposal. There is one way, however, that would make it work. When house of wolves comes out, there will be a total of three raids, equaling to the number of elemental damage types there are. Each set of raid armor contains a specific shield. This will keep guardians occupied for a while by encouraging them to do the older raids for the best possible perks that come along with the armor piece. In order for this to be possible, though, I believe all armor should yield the same light level. Now as we all know, it would be illogical for vault of glass armor to give 36 light at this point in time, as the vault of glass raid has a lower level requirement than the crota raid and it would supply players with inadequate skill the ability to boost their level up quickly. So here is my proposal... Vault of glass, level __ raid would be released with the house of wolves along with a level __ raid of Crotas end, both of which will match the new hard level difficulty that will be released with the house of wolves. These raids will drop new gear (both armor AND weapons) that match the newest light level and attack strength. Along with that, these armor pieces will supply Guardians with an elemental shield that will lower the damage taken by aliens by a certain percent. I believe a damage reduction of around 25% would be both fair to the gameplay, and advantageous to the players. This, however, would be STRICTLY applicable in PvE. Upon entering the crucible, all elemental shields would be switched off and unusable, just like the way attack strength and total defense doesn't dictate whether you will win or lose in a battle (minus iron banner).
