So, I've been running and hiking in Vibrams (toe shoes) for years, but finally make a transition to full barefoot.
I wish I'd made the transition to full barefoot first to really learn the mechanics of it. There is a noticeable difference without the Vibrams. I still like hiking in my barefoot shoes over anything else.
Anyone else here have experience running? Prefer barefoot over shoes? Or have an argument for or against one way or the other?
Most of the science behind the barefoot running is anecdotal and I've dug into Asian as I could find.
Based on my personal experience and gains, barefoot running seems to have helped me overcome weak and unstable ankles. That was worth it alone. I also don't experience any knee or hip pain after runs like I did in shoes.
Let's see how long it takes for this thread to get buried.
