Am I the only one who thinks 5% chance to refund a missed a round is a little too low to be a useful perk? On an average scout rifle thats only about a single bullet per clip. Kinda prevents me from wanting to drop marks on some of the scout rifles being sold and kinda bums me out when a nightfall gives me one with the perk generated. A slight buff to the perk would be nice. 15%-20% seems reasonable. Thoughts?
EDIT 1: good feedback so far guys! Keep bumping and giving your thoughts! :D

Mulligan is the NLB of perks.

Stop missing.

Bump.

Bump - agree

You are not alone, this is also an areas that I think needs to be addressed. Also the post below about it scaling to the timing of the shot I think is brilliant. I was thinking something similar thought the percentage scales based on magazine size. (Rocket Launchers with a clip of 2 start aroudn 60 percent, Snipers with 3-6 around 40 percent and so on. Diminshing chance of mulligan procing based on how many shots already missed in said clip)

Edited by Dexter307: 3/4/2015 6:17:36 PMHow mulligan should work 1st missed shot has a 100% chance to be returned to mag 2nd missed shot has a 50% chance to be returned to mag 3rd missed shot has a 25% chance to be returned to mag 4th missed shot has a 10% chance to be returned to mag 5th missed shot and onward has only a 5% chance to be returned to the mag This way you would be forgiven for missing a few shots as everyone does, but if you're missing a lot then you don't get many rounds back. Chance resets back to 100% after a reload Chance would be a flat 33% on rocket launchers

I would definitely agree, though I think it should be tied in with what the last shot fired was. If it was a Precision Hit, leave it at 5~10. If it was a body shot, maybe 10~20 and for missing twice consecutively it should almost always auto refill a single round. A smart system would be the ideal system, though they'll definitely find it easier to just give it a flat buff. A bear can only dream.
-
Yes! Right now it's completely useless.
-
Sounds good.
-
Totally behind you on this one !
-
Buff to at least 20-30%
-
20 would be great, but with bungies RNG system, I'm sure we wouldn't notice the difference
-
I agree. I consider it any empty perk, with some weapons being useable in spite of it. Icebreaker is the only gun I have that can get away with having it.
-
Edited by GT Viking: 3/3/2015 3:24:24 AMYup. 20% would be reasonable. Super Good Advice would still be special.
-
Or drop it.. I don't know that I've ever seen it actually work.
-
Edited by T3mpest: 3/2/2015 7:53:46 PMI think more like 20-25%. 25% ideally. 1 in 4 still makes it somewhat useful on basically all gun types. Snipers have about 4 shots in a clip 16-20 reseverve and assuming you miss 1 per mag you'll get back 1 bullet out of a full gun worth, similar with rockets.
-
I think bungie arbitrarily assigns these numbers. I think what they should do instead is ask themselves these questions when balancing weapons: Would a 5% proc for mulligan be op? No? 10%? No? 20%? 30%? And so on. Competition. Perks compete with each other for your time. It's perfectly fine to make Mulligan at w ridiculously good 40% proc rate if it was competing with the firefly perk or zen moment, for example.

Seriously even super good advice rarely works and ita supposed to have a good chance. Mulligan is one of those deal breaker perks for me sometimes

Edited by ToughGuy051: 3/2/2015 6:29:51 PMMulligan is terrible. Bump
-
Agreed bump
-
Yes, this perk definitely needs a buff. In its current state it's possibly the worst perk in the game considering how many times it will actually occur. I'd say at least a 25% chance of it occurring would be good enough.
-
Edited by Scientific: 3/2/2015 6:27:28 AMI tested this once before the expansion on an Unfriendly Giant. I had noticed that during gameplay Mulligan never seemed to work so I shot 15 straight rockets into nothing and never got 1 back. I still have never seen this perk work on a rocket launcher, and it freaks me out when it actually works on a sniper because I forget it exists.
-
Have never seen it work on my icebreaker
-
It really needs to be buffed to 25% minimum, 5% is just awful, particularly when it's on an exotic like Ice Breaker or No Land Beyond.
