Crucible rank 4 & up
I have a rank 3 in the crucible and I'm almost a rank 4. Is there any benefit to getting higher in the ranks right now? Are better weapons/gear sold from the handlers? Or should I switch to dead orbit etc from now on since I'm rank 3?

Dead orbit. Im like rank 13 in crucible. Possible armor and weapons that the vendor already has but with varying perks. Dead orbit can gift a hand cannon and shaders and even a ship. Which is extremely rare. But you could be gifted the scout rifle with great perks or the machine gun . which no matter the perks on the machine gun , it devastates in the crucible.

I would check the web and go by what weapons and armor each faction MAY gift you for leveling and work on the ones that you may want, it's gonna be randomly engrams or armor/weapons regardless. In addition to engrams, Vanguard will gift pretty much any of the weaponry that they sell with differing bonus effects but the Factions will gift some stuff that they don't have in their merchant inventory (Dead Orbit Broken Truth Sniper rifle for example).

Just depends on what you hope will drop for you from ranking up. Lots of people want dead orbit shaders so that's the only reason they rank them up. Or you might want a certain fun with different perks or one that's not sold. IE new monarchy hand cannon.

You get crucible commendation packs, which sometimes have a weapon from the crucible weapon vendor. So it depends on you.
