Please Don't Shaft Vendor Gear
Smith admits some mistakes like Vanguard vendor gear invalidating the effort of Vault of Glass Raiders, and exotic weapon resets that came along with upgrades.
Well, that's nice. But don't let Raid Gear invalidate Vendor Gear either Luke Smith. All legendary gear should be max level. It's good to have choices. I am an accomplished Raider (no, I'm not "the legend himself"), but I expect Respect to the whole Vanguard and Crucible contestants as well. I also enjoy Strikes and PvP very much and some players don't raid, but you better treat them like the accomplished guardians they are too. As always, would love to see upgraded versions of older pieces for sale (in addition to new wares) in vg and crucible as well just like you guys did for factions. The more valid and effective choices we have in gearing up, the better. I miss the old days when you leveled up by fighting battles with monsters and earning xp points. It makes the most sense because the more battles you fought, and the tougher the enemies really made you a better player. But in Destiny you don't even get more xp for fighting a level 30 knight than a level 5 one. Gear ruins this game more than makes it cool if you ask me. It's some arbitrary nonsense at work here. I disagree with discriminating against players until they get the lucky rng raid sets. I can understand why this game flopped. It's unplayable for lots of people and players that don't get lucky on raids are viewed as inferior. It's gross really. I wouldn't design a game with all of this built in negativity. Is HoW going to be something fun, or is it going to be more of this annoying gear drama? we want accessible options next time! And no, vanity slots and transmog are just annoying copies from bad mmos. I think the gear should look like what it is. It's an aesthetic concern, and I find the "paper doll" aspects very enjoyable and transmog would just be an annoying mechanic in that regard. Don't need cover ups, just need good stats on all legendary gear! Make the game accessible ;) I think more people would raid if they could be on par with enemies when they go in. Taking more damage and doing less damage pushes out people who might otherwise enjoy the change of pace raiding offers. Raids should be about good and exciting group gameplay that is challenging, yet accessible to the average console player. Raids should be a time to enjoy teamwork, new places, new plots, and combat mechanics that let you use your guardian abilities to their fullest. Going in with your weapons and armor nerfed because of level reasons is not an attractive game mechanic in my opinion. However, there are lots of other issues surrounding the classic "raid" concept that may need some re-thinking as well. Speaking for myself, I've kind of lost interest in raids, and find story, vanguard roc, and crucible to be the most enjoyable and rewarding (gameplay) parts of this game.
