I've heard it can drop on kills after your first each reset. I've heard 10, I've heard it's like the husk and always has a chance, and I've heard both previous statements are crap.
I can't seem to locate any confirmation of the actual drop process.
Anyone got some links to something that can put this to rest for me? Please?
Edit: The question isn't so much the pre req's to getting it to drop. I'm interested in wether or not each character gets 1 chance per reset, or 10, or more.

It drops randomly, 1 chance per character per week. All prerequisite rumours were proved nonsense, people have got it on their first Hard completion, no glowhoo, no Eidolon Ally or Husk, having beaten Normal first. It seems bungie actually DID forget to put it in the loot table in the first week. Just don't expect them ever to admit it!
-
As long as you've beat Crota on hard once. It has the chance to drop randomly every time after that. *** I have Necrochasm, it was a waste of time to get. The weapon is useless and kills you more often than the enemy.
-
I did normal raid yesterday and got the usual guns/shards etc. Then helped a group do it on hard. Got the crux! No shader equipped. It's totally random if it drops.
-
Got mine 4th try with my Glowhoo equipped on another character and my Edion Ally on my level 12 hunter. It's RNG
-
Yes I get a couple every week
-
Got my second one yesterday..it wasnt the first raid after reset..i dont wear glow hoo..i did nothing special..its just luck, nothing else..just like in the vog with the vex
-
Much like the Vex Mythoclast, it is hard raid specific. If you complete Crota's End on normal mode, and in the same week complete Crota's End on hard mode, you merely lose the chance of getting a bigger Loot drop on hard mode, but since you already got the normal mode rewards, it's not that big of a deal. Additionally, since you can only get rewarded the Crux of Crota on hard mode, doing normal mode first doesn't reduce your odds as it is a hard mode drop only. That is all...

Edited by GemCutter: 3/1/2015 8:59:11 AMOne chance per character per reset. I've beat crota five times tops on hard and I've had two drop. Each was a fresh reset though.
-
Tf are you saying?
-
I got it on my second kill on crota, I didn't even have husk at the time. I heard glowhoo improves the drop by 5% but idk if that's true. so anyways that's my story. good luck

1 chance per character per reset.

Edited by The_McFresh: 3/1/2015 8:46:37 AMI got it on my 3rd hard completion this week. I have got something like 12 hard mode completions, maybe a couple more or less not sure. It is nice to look at, but that is about it. I have no idea if it were before or after my normal mode completions, and I didn't wear my glowhoo. Only my hunter wears that shader.
-
It can happen within the next reset after you first beat it and you don't have to have glowhoo on. I got it again last night for the 3rd without glowhoo on. I was wearing my God of war shader.
-
Took me about a 1.5 months until i got my Crux. Having glowhoo equipped is just a rumor. Players believe that the drop system gives you stuff based on the things you dont have. But equip it anyway just to be safe. Crux drops into your inventory like a raidant energy. You dont even need husk of the pit to be leveled up.
-
It's drops totally randomly on for beating crota hard mode. There is a lot or destiny lore surrounding the crux that my friend debunked. He got the crux after doing his first ever hard mode crota after previously doing normal. He didn't have the glohoo shader, emblem, sparrow, ship, or even the husk of the pit yet. It's 100% random.
-
It's rng just like the rest of the drops are. There isn't some stupid ass strategy or theory to get it. Some of the theory's I hear are stupid.
-
i don't think there's anything to that theory. i just don't think it could drop the first week and on purpose. having the glowhoo equipped, perhaps is true. hard to say because probably everyone that got the crux already had the glowhoo. as far as the eidolon bs going around, none of that is true. i didn't even have that weapon when i got the crux. i had a never been touched husk in my vault and still got the crux. there is also no truth to the rumor about not playing normal first. i always play normal first and definitely played normal first the time i got the crux.
-
You just need to have completed Hard mode once and obtain Glowhoo. The shader needs to be in your inventory. Does not need to be equipped. I'm not sure how it works if you transfer your shader to another character though.
-
It has a chance to drop after your first hard mode completion. I ended up getting it on my 3rd hard mode completion and since then I've gotten 2 more
