The vote for net neutrality happens tomorrow. What do you think will happen?
For those of you not in the know watch this. Yes it's a bit long but if you use the internet at all you need to know.
Basically cable companies want to say "Hello friend! We control the internet now :) so kindly gtfo out of OUR series of tubes and get ready cause we're going in dry! "
That should get at least some of you a bit pissed.
EDIT
Thanks to Mad Max explaining better, what is being voted on is Title II which would make the internet be considered a utility and would therefore NOT be able to be controlled by the cable companies to do with as they see fit
UPDATE
grover786 has given us good news!
Title II has prevailed however this is not the end of the fight.
yeah, the companies of the us wont be able control the internet, they are undecided as to weather or not to classify as a utilitie and there are talks of controlling or preventing rediculous costs to customers put forward by the companies. (verizon/comcast and such)
will up date as new info arives, im watching cspan right now at work.
But he also says
Ok so, we have a double edged sword here, basically since it won, as i said before the companies cant throttle or up charge or have two different lanes. on the other hand this gives the fcc alot of control over many aspects of the internet if it goes ALL the way. so we will have to wait and see if the fcc does the right thing and mearly protects us from ISP's and there abuse of there power, and hopefully the fcc wont begin to abuse there power or we could end up like china or which ever korea it is that has the extreme limiting.
JUST TO CLARIFY. EITHER WAY WE GO ITS ALL KINDS OF SCREWED. I DON'T WANT ISP TO BE IN CONTROL THIS DOESN'T MEAN I LIKE THE OTHER OPTION EITHER.

Can't decide what's better. Federal control or corporate control. I hope Americans made the right decision.
