What is happening with Crotas End gear in HoW?
I'm posting this in the hopes that someone will answer this.
[spoiler]When TDB came out, it made VoG gear redundant as the new vendor gear had 3 light levels more than VoG gear. This is why I quit for a month until mid Janurary when I started playing again.
I haven't been able to do CE hard mode yet as my warlock is missing a CE suit (has exotic helm) and my hunter is missing a CE helmet (has an exotic chest). Not only this but I feel like the Eris bounties are so out of the way of playing the game the way I usually play that after six weeks or so, I'm only rank 1 Eris so I cannot change my energies into shards thus.... even if I get the pieces I probably couldn't upgrade them in time for the HoW[/spoiler]
The Dark Below made Vault Of Glass gear useless, will the House of Wolves do the same thing?
If yes then everyone will be pissed and lots of people will quit... if no then I won't be able to play the HoW raids with my teams/friends as I'm missing a CE gear piece and have no ascendant shards.

They mentioned not making raid gear obsolete. It's likely you'll have to compete CE (even on normal) to get all the gear and level it up. I did 3? Raids and one was only a crota checkpoint. I got chest boots gloves gloves and two light of the abyss, plus tons of shards/energy. It's really simple and really fun.

6 RepliesI recall a post saying raid level gear will not be sold by vendors in HoW. CE armor will need to be upgraded to HoW gear via raids. As for shards, id put money on there being a new type of shard. Ascendent and Radiant will likely not be used for HoW armor. This is typical MMO raid progression, nothing new.

Crotas end gear will be made obsolete eventually. But like with this dlc, VoG weapons were still usable. In the same way, when HoW drops the current armour will be replaced with new raid gear and a new set of higher damage weapons will be available. The things people were upset by was vendor armour being better than VoG armour, and exotics having to be levelled up again after upgrading. Nobody should expect current gear to be as good as new gear stats.

Bungie's upgrade path, it seems, is one that will most likely lead to legendary items becoming obsolete for the most part. Play the content for fun and enjoy it until the next content is released, rinse & repeat.

Nobody knows, but you still have about 10 weeks to get the gear and shards so it should be possible

The real answer. Nobody know cause it isnt out yet. Odds are yes though which isnt bad. New level increase, it only makes sense you havee to get new gear to get to the new lvl cap. Raid guns are the only thing that should really be carried over and upgraded but that wont happen either
