Why do people constantly call for nerfs?
It seems like every time I peruse the forums I come across another person crying for nerfs for some weapon type(i.e. fusion rifles) or even specific weapons(suros, vex, thorn, TLW, etc.)
So I guess I am baffled. Why do people think these weapons are so OP? These weapons are designed for certain scenarios. If you try to fight them in their domain, you will likely lose.
So rather than trying the same strategy to engage them expecting a different result (the definition of insanity), why don't you simply try a different approach? If you're STILL getting your posterior handed to you, maybe that particular player (or players) are just better than you. Stop asking for weapons to get nerfed just because you either can't figure out a counter or simply aren't skilled enough to win.
Long story short, quit whining about weapons and just learn to adapt. If you can't learn to adapt, maybe crucible/iron banner isn't the place for you.

Because (insert weapon name here) killed me and rather than admitting the person using it is more skilled than you it's because the gun is op.

I like the game although it is a little easy... When I play I don't usually wear the best gear I have or use the best gun I go for something. That will make it a challenge. What ever hear is appropriately levelled for the encounter :) It makes the game a lot more challenging and in my opinion fun.

I honestly wish that crucible had a match (clash for instance) that lvl stats matterd its so much more fun for me.

Cuz their mad/jealous they don't have those weapons and are sick of seeing them/getting killed by them lol. Honestly I don't care I don't get mad like that I love my Hawkmoon:)

4 RepliesThese guys don't know OP, if you played BF3 and was bent over by a team of USAS 12's with Frag rounds pre RoF nerf/Frag round nerf you know what OP is. People don't change tactics, they get comfy.

I was there during the first iron banner it was fun and a change from the crucible.I avoided all the other iron banners as I took a break from the grind and played other games.I came back last month and still had my edge so when iron banner came around I wanted to try it out again biggest mistake ever holy hell this game is lacking balance it was a hellhole.the entire enemy team hardlight,vex,snipers,thorn,TLW,thunder lord the moment the match started we were mowed down like grass it was impossible for any of us to get a kill. mind you the map was shores of time every time I had a kill in my pocket Bam second enemy appears nails me dead this has nothing to do with skill I am a bloody good shot when it comes to FPS,s the pvp is unbalanced because everyone has access to these powerful guns and abuse them in pvp they are allowed to though as is the right of anyone to use them but when an entire team have powerful weapons it does not come down to Skill it comes down to stats anybody can throw thorn on and pull the trigger and kill a guy in 2-3 hits etc vex just hold down the trigger and zap people I won't go on any further but those require no skill or effort you have to aim yes but you won't miss with thorn regardless just aim for the body and free kill that is my point so long as you have a powerful weapon you don't need any skill battlefield has bullet drop but no guns are Unbalanced and are easily counter able you can win. I know exotics are supposed to be special and all but quite frankly they have destroyed pvp I will tell you this I won't be doing iron banner or crucible anymore as I prefer to rely on myself not my gun to do all the work for me. I hate small maps in pvp but I enjoyed destiny's for a time . now it has turned into a joke but that is the devs fault not the players. Anybody that does not believe the pvp is broken is in denial I am sorry but it is true you can judge me all you want I honestly do not care I had my say and i strongly believe that both the iron banner and crucible are now broken because of these abuse of weapons sure you can learn to counter a gun when they are firing on you but how about an entire team carrying said guns how do you counter that? and do not reply with Git Gud because that is an excuse and you are basically part of the problem for accepting destiny's tarnished pvp .people ask why a lot of players don't pvp this is why half the time .as for my pvp needs I will just find something else to play maybe hardline regardless strictly pve for me at least I can still have fun there I am sorry if this offends anyone who enjoys the current pvp but I wanted to speak my mind because I have had enough of protecting destiny's broken pvp. Exotics are excellent and always fun to see but keep them out of pvp as people will want them nerfed. because of the abuse of the weapon in pvp pve players suffer anyway I'm done

2 RepliesBecause crucible and Iron Banner should be balanced. There's a reason why over 75% of people use the same 4 primaries, especially in the "competitive" Iron Banner. It's not whining if you think the game should be fair and balanced. Please go up against a team of players all using Thorn or TLW and tell me how much you lose by. If you think everyone who thinks something should be buffed or nerfed is a whiner then you're a -blam!-ing idiot and a god damn sheep.

5 RepliesLess than 20% are avid pvp'ers. And a very very small slice of that sub-20% crowd wrecks guns for EVERYONE else. Fusion rifles take time to charge, you can even hear them coming. To land a good ohk fusion shot DOES take skill! Vex is a bit OP but doesn't need a nerf. Instead of buffing shotty(in pve) and pulse rifles*(pvp and pve) this asshole John Wiesnewski decides to nerf a ton of guns as well. Because of that .1% of the less than 20% that complain. Listen, I'm bad at pvp but getting ohk by a fusion just teaches me to learn to play better and move better. Aim better. Get better. I never whine about anything but the guys that lag so bad they teleport around and can't be killed. Even then i don't start a thread about it! If you post whining about this/that being OP and needs a nerf then you should have a "cooldown" period and be restricted to pve only for 24 hours. Lol. I'd fn LOVE that

2 RepliesIdk man, that vex did need a nerf at first, three shot kill nomatter what is pretty op, however they seem to be able to seperate pvp nerfs and pve nerfs. So GIVE US BACK THE TRUE MYTHOCLAST!!!! And i cant tell you how many times that damn thorn has two sot me at any range, its just annoying.

2 RepliesBecause we want a balanced Crucible. This is Destiny 1. This is a new PvP for Bungie that they have involved many different things. There are so many things they have to keep in mind to balance and they will fail with many. Weapon nerfs need to happen so any player has the same opportunity to kill you with any other gun. Some guns just give you an advantage over another gun if they are not using that gun. Weapon nerfs shouldn't be present in Pve but Bungie doesn't know how to handle that. Things like supers and heavy ammo wouldn't be an issue if private matches existed. You can find people to play with and remove whatever you don't want to deal with. If you leave hand cannons as they are, PvP is no different than something like CoD's time to kill. Where are the gun fights? Landing 3 shots from a hand cannon is not hard. Letting thorn get you kills is not hard. And seriously dude, you are no one to talk with that [b]negative[/b] kdr of yours. You are one of those players who needs to rely on over powered weapons just to get kills lol. There's no denying that. If i sucked i'd be doing the same as you and bitching about people trying to nerd the only weapons I can kill with. Long story short, weapon nerfs happen whether you want it or not. Bungie nerfed ARs by their choice because they were being over used. Maybe FPS games aren't for you.

My only complaint about the weapons is how op the last word is. And how shotguns are pretty much one shot kills. But oh well.

22 RepliesI guess you don't really understand the concept of good game design. There should NEVER be a best weapon in any game. All guns she be on an even playing field where skill is determined by the user and their play style. Having weapons that are clearly better than others in PvP (i.e. Suros, Vex, Thorn, The Last Word, etc). is unacceptable. These guns needs to be balanced if you want PvP to be an enjoyable experienced, which now is far from enjoyable.

2 RepliesBecause in this game unlike cod and bf and a bunch of other shooters. This one doesn't have certain criteria to unlock weapons. Except for exotic bounties. Everything is just rng. Which means a lot of the time people complaining haven't tried out these weapons their self that they keep getting killed by and think it's just the gun the op not the player. With that said, yes I do believe certain weapons are more powerful then others and No matter the game their are always better weapons in them. Though in other games complaining about these op weapons is never a big thing. All you have to do is just play enough to level up and you will get that weapon. Destiny not so much. But this is just imo.

Because rather than trying to buff what doesn't work, people would rather nerf what does so they don't get killed by it so often. While nerfs are certainly needed for some things, a lot of other problems could be fixed by just buffing some things. For instance, Instead of nerfing auto rifles more, Bungie should really just be buffing pulse rifles and some s out rifles. People don't use them because they don't work well compared to the other options. If they were a bit more stable or had slightly more impact, then people would use them more. However, nerfing the weapons that work fine is NOT the best solution. Unfortunately this lesson has not been learned. So every time a player doesn't like how one thing is too strong, they will keep asking for it to be nerfed until they are satisfied.

1 ReplyPlayer gets killed by weapon more than once weapon is OP and they want it nerfed, comes to forums posting nerf thread crying cause they can't get it and find out it isn't OP or they are not good enough to beat the player with that same weapon. I am very surprised I have not seen a thread say to nerf players.

Because they firmly believe that it's the weapon that killed them and not the skill level of player who used it. It bothers me too. I have had my fair share of being killed by Suros, Thorn, Vex, TLW and while I admit it's frustrating to get killed in PvP, I NEVER blame it on the weapon being OP. Rather I re-evaluate my tactic to the player that killed me and almost always discover that it's a combination of my own arrogance and his/her skill that got me killed. I then change tactics and find my situation improves. For the people who scream "NERF" for every weapon that's killed them, I just chalk it up to frustration due to them lacking critical thinking skills in stressful situations. [b]TL; DR[/b] When emotions go up, intelligence goes down.
