Am I missing something?
I don't play crucible much, but last night I did and someone did it to me...I actually busted out laughing lol.
Why do people get so enraged about a fictional character, sitting on your dead fictional characters head? I've seen people say they went as far as calling the cops lmfao.
I'm pretty new to the destiny scene, so I'm wondering if maybe I'm missing something? Or do people get so into this game they actually see their character as their real life avatar, and believe they just literally got tea bagged?

Teabagging is a win-win situation for everybody! You don't need a reason to do it, so just do it! 😎

Teabagging has been around for awhile. It's an FPS staple. The thing is that most people who teabag only do it when they are being bested and get mad and finally kill you. At least that is how it happens with me. I was playing a match with a few clan mates and blink/shotty/melee'd a Gunslinger who had just popped his golden gun. My buddy laughs and says "TEA BAG HIM". I didn't even think twice about it and continued to clear out the next to poor saps who thought they could say something to my Felwinter's Lie. Had I teabagged the dead gunslinger I would surely have been killed. I almost never teabag unless the round just ended. Sometimes I will during other situations but most of the time I am too busy finding my next target, not trying to 1up somebody with my character's balls. Teabagging is great and it's a tradition that needs to be held on to but nothing will ever beat putting down some dumb -blam!- who decided to celebrate too early by tea bagging or dancing on one of my team mates. I can only imagine what it feels like to get shot in the dome while dancing in the middle of a fire fight. I LOL @ NOOBS.

I think it's stupid but to each there own I guess

Its just considered a rude or childish gesture to do. Like the middle finger or blowing a raspberry at someone. I dont like it when strangers do that to me. Its annoying. But if its someone I know (even as an aquaintance) I laugh. But Im going to 1-up the bastard in that case and actually make my character sit on his face.

It's funny because the other players can she when they are dead in pvp

If I gave you the finger, would you be offended? It's a disrespectful gesture made towards you, the player
