Is its time already over before it has begun?
I don't know about anyone else but I used to regularly come home from work and after a wash and something to eat my night was set. It consisted of doing all my bounties, the daily mission and generally upgrading equipment or faction rep.
I was happy with this for a while as I enjoyed the gunplay and team mechanics but over the last two months something has changed.
That glossy veneer that coated Destiny has begun to tarnish and the sheer lack of enjoyable content is starting to grate. I haven't finished a bounty in two weeks as there is no fun in doing the exact same thing day in day out. I also haven't bothered to do a full Crota raid in a few weeks. The Vault of Glass is a lot of fun but i haven't bothered to do that in months.
I will say that I am not saying that this game is bad because it isn't but why should I play it? I realised that all i was doing was nightfalls and weeklies on a Tuesday. Raids at some point after to get gear and then what????
What do i need this gear for???
To do the nightfall easier?
To finish the raid easier?
Why?
What is the point in Factions when everyone wears raid gear and weaponry and are essentially clones?
Whats the point in having more available items then vault space? A fact that shouldn't have to be addressed after six months!
These are just small points in a endless sea of misery when i comes to Destiny's failings.
I hear a lot of people saying House of Wolfs will be better, others saying the Comet update will "change everything" but it won't. It will bring in just enough content to keep you just above that bar of happiness.
I haven't played Destiny properly for a few weeks now and I haven't been happier but its still down to you if your still enjoying it.
I would imagine that most who picked the game up at christmas are still in the honeymoon period where destiny can do no wrong. I was also there but we seem to be going through a bad divorce.
I just hope they do something drastic to change this game or I fear the feeling me and my other eight guardian friends have will spread across the rest of the community.
As I said though these are just the opinions of me and my raid-team so your entitled to your own opinions
Till then I will pick my guitar back up and dust it off.

Edited by Achomaniac: 2/13/2015 6:00:09 PMIt's Bungie's disrespectful attitude towards the players (taking us for granted) that bothers me the most. The game itself, despite it's myriad flaws, is still fun pew pew with my buddies. IMO P.S. Don't neglect that guitar buddy. I keep mine within arms reach. Get a little pickin' done during loading screens :)

The only compromise I've found, is that raid gear get you to 32, anything short makes you 31......but really you can wear whatever you want and be a happy 31 doing whatever you want, and just run your preferred 32 loadout on CE hard.

I take it slow. Never done VoG. Never done complete Crota. Haven't collected all ghosts. Haven't played all crucible game modes. This game favors a casual play style.
-
Just play crucible

I get on to do bounties every couple days just for faction rep. I bought dying light really enjoyed it but once you beat it it's completely useless unless you help a friend beat the story again. Traded in dying light for dragon age inquisition yesterday and it has great graphics and seems like a great game it's just veryyyy boring at the beginning. Anyone who has DA Inquisition, does this game stand up to Skyrim? It's really the only reason I bought it, I thought it looked like Skyrim.

There's nothing better than picking your guitar up mate, love it..as for destiny..if they just added a few more exotics to go at and added a few new strikes/bounties I would be happy til HoW..the thought of doing a patrol when it's offered by the bounty guy just puts me off sometimes.
-
You have overplayed your game sir. Right now there isn't enough content to invest 600+hours without getting bored. (Some people are exceptions. Hours played will be different for everyone.)
-
I be using my strangers rifle while only wearing my Crota warlock bond at zone B like a boss.
-
Instead of doing bounties and dailys, just focus on the weekly events, focus on exotic cps in the raids, and try and get all the raid guns/drops/exotics. I'm still fishing for BH and HardLight. And the elusive Gjallarhorn. And perfect raid stat rolls. Still waiting on a helmet that gives health on orbs.
-
I said -blam!- Destiny. I went to play some older games like Knights of the Old Republic. Good game.
-
Bloodborne!!!!!!!!
-
Six months is definitely over before it begun
-
what drastic change would you like to see that would bring the two of you back together?
-
I'v lived the destiny dream. I own all exotics and missing one piece of the hunter armor. I've solo'd raid bosses, nightfalls and Heroics. I've had some really good runs in the crucible. Now....what? Its getting blah. As of 2 weeks ago, I've started to slowly lose my Destiny grasp. Is it the issues? No, I've worked past them and made it work, what I'm getting at is there is nothing left to do. Bounties are repetative and strikes are all the same. I literally need nothing from the NF and Heriocs because I own it all. Honestly, it just boils down to playing with my fireteam during the reset, after that, I'm off doing other crap. Good fame, I gave it my all. Skyrim was the only other game that had my attention past 1000 hours and it wasnt even online.

Same here

I've had faith in bungie since the beginning. I'm resting my destiny playing future on house of wolves. If they still ignore major concerns then, I will stop playing. I believe they can fix this game
-
Nailed it
-
Balance it out with other games e.g free trial games on PSN store or Xbox.
-
Agreed. I'm in the same boat. I tune in on Tuesday for quick nightfalls, get crap then turn back to my regularly scheduled program. At present it's dying light.
-
All that the new content and updates are going to do is add even more glitches and more problems that bungie won't fix or even address. They will continue to fix stuff that doesn't need fixing instead of actually working on stuff that does. At least we will have new content to play though instead of the same stuff that is getting boring.
-
But hey come on, it's iron banner next week, that must be refreshing...
-
the problem was the progression system . it gave a cause and effect feeling. they reaped what they sow
-
I fail to understand your post. The game is a game. How is it any different then any other game? In the end all games are about a meaningless point, gear, reward, trophy, achievement, etc, system where at the end nothing magically jumps out of it and gives you something for the hole you've been filling. It didn't force you to play. You found yourself addicted to a video game and decided to play it until you felt accomplished then realizing you accomplished nothing because it's only pointless data in a video game. What now? Borderlands? Guarantee you it will fill the same at the end. WoW? Guess what... THE SAME!!!! Go write a book or invent something if you want really accomplishment. Let us people who have accomplishment in other aspects in life enjoy the game for what it is. A game. Don't hate the game, hate the player, hate yourself.

Been playing evolve lately
-
Still hasn't happened for me, but I do get bored of grinding for glimmer! The VOG is so much fun still for me, enjoy Crota but not quite as much. Nightfals are good especially omigul!
-
If you are not having fun then don't play, that's the point of it right? I do think that the loot system needs a serious overhaul, it almost feels like the game is punishing me for playing now, no land beyond and trolley problems everywhere. 150 coins in the vault, 200+ shards and energy. I mainly play to chase the jellyhorn, which apparently I'm not allowed to have :)
