D Pad Idea

Just an idea that popped in my head earlier today, if this has been brought up before I have no idea about it. The actions that are given to use players for the D Pad (not sure if it has a different name for the Playstation as I don't have one) are alright in my mind. Sit, wave, dance, and point. Not much to work with but its a little bit of flavor for social items. But instead of having actions for the controls, why not make them have actions worthwhile? Especially in combat situations or raids and crucible events. I think its safe to say all players hate having to go into their menu, wait for stuff to load, get into there tree or over to consumables, and get stuff done while hiding in cover for up to a minute (or so it feels). The change would consist of allowing players to instead of doing action items to change out abilities or use and item. Here's my example: Left pad- Cycle through grenades. Being able to go from Scatter to Vortex Grenades would help in transitions say from small numerous mobs to a boss. Down Pad- Cycle your supers. Again, change from Shatter Nova Bomb to Vortex. Right Pad- Cycle Melee ability... same idea again. Up Pad- This one I can imagine going one of two ways: 1st:- Being able to change from one Sub Class to another. Though I feel the penalty we have now (losing grenade and melee and super energy) would still presist, it would allow for them to happen faster and without hiding or having issues as much. Especially in mid conbat stuff. Or 2nd:- Using a consumable. I don't raid much but I could easily see a group running Crota or Vault and a member blasting with Gjallarhorn wanting to be able to get ammo ASAP in that sucker. Instead of fumbling around to get to the page, let players sync one item into the Pad and boom... heavy ammo back and ready to go again. Now I understand that some people may say "You shouldn't have to switch your subclass mid fight". I do agree there but this is only an idea. For the cycling keep it simple too. Just have it cycle down and then jump to the top ability and continue. I have Vortex Grenade and want the Axion Bolts? Two Pad hits and got it ready to go. I could see this being an interesting factor is many events in the game. From patrol, to crucible matches, to raids. Thoughts from you my fellow Guardians?
