My Ideas for Customization and Reforging

We all know customization in Destiny is lacking. It sucks that the only difference between who level 32 titans are what shader and exotic armor they are wearing. It’s stupid. And exotics, yeah they’re great, but there are many people with all of them. They need to be unique and difficult to get. Less random and more progression based. And we want to be able to reforge weapons that have bad perks. But we can only reroll Iron Banner weapons, and there isn't a guarantee that you'll get a better roll. Not to mention that at the current price, it has the capability to break the game, so I put in a solution that I think could be fair and not game breaking. How Exotics should be Example, Husk of the Pit Start off as a common, requiring you to do specific stuff as you use it to level it up. Could have an array of different ways to level it and effects how it turns out (element, perks, stability, range, mag size, etc.) This would make exotics unique and more variable. So instead of every one having Ice Breaker, people could have the Pulsar (void version) or the Tesla (arc version) (I know the names kinda suck) Additions for Dismantling Weapons and Armor Weapons: When you dismantle a weapon, in addition to weapon parts and glimmer, you should have a chance of getting a few weapon nodes. The stacks of three node which you can switch (for example: the swappable perks are field scout, perfect balance, and explosive rounds), when you get a random node piece from the stack (so you get one of those three nodes randomly). You have a chance, only a chance, no guarantee, of getting a node for one of the permanent perks (firefly, auto fire, etc.) So in total when you dismantle a weapon you get glimmer, weapon parts, a barrel or scope node, and a chance at a permanent node. Armor: Like with weapons, when you dismantle armor you should have a chance at getting a perk node. Transmog What should it cost: 1 Vanguard or Crucible Commendation, Glimmer (dependent on the amount of customization), and weapon parts or class specific materials. How to unlock skins: When dismantling a weapon or armor piece you obtain the skin that it had. Further customization: The perks a weapon or armor piece has should have an effect on the appearance it has (for instance, if your chest piece allows you to carry more shotgun ammo, throw on some shotgun shells on there). Also, each class should have different options for further customization. For example, I think Bad Juju and Young Ahamkara’s Spine is how hunter weapons and armor should look like. So hunters have the option of adding bones and random leather straps to their items. Titans could add fur and extra metal plating. Warlocks could add holographic and mystic effects, similar to their legendary armbands. This would solve the problem of everyone looking the same and having the same weapons. Thus giving people incentive to have all three classes. It would also be nice if you could name your weapons and armor. For weapons, if it has an element, it should affect the appearance more (light effects, additional modules on the gun, magazines with light strips, etc.). Have you noticed that shaders effect different armor differently, my theory is that it shades armor differently based on the material/texture. So, you should also be able to change what material/texture. Reforging Basic Reforging: Brings the item to the current max attack or armor rating and costs 1 Vanguard or Crucible Commendation, Glimmer, 1 Mote of Light, and weapon parts or class specific mats; only respecs the last 2 or 3 nodes. And (my recommendation) one hour of real time. Advanced Reforging: Basic Reforging and you can also change perks for a certain amount of perk nodes (no less than 5). Additional costs: 1 Vanguard or Crucible mark per node, Glimmer, and weapon parts or class specific materials. Should also take more real world time to deter from constant changing (12 hours for each permanent node, and 2 hours for each swappable node); Respecs to the earliest perk in the tree that was changed. Just a thought: Have all weapons and armor have and exotic perk slot. Where we could put an exotic perk node (would be purchased from Xur) for 5 Vanguard or Crucible Commendations, Glimmer, 10 Motes of light, and weapon parts or class specific armor. Filling this slot would make the item unable to be reforged. Would create a lot of unique exotics. Change elements on Weapons (Wishful thinking) Nodes: When you dismantle a weapon with an element (solar, arc, void) you get a node of that element. (One from uncommons, two from rares, three from legendries, four from exotics). Element Reforging: Can only be done with weapons that have elements already. It would take a lot of nodes, and I mean a ridiculous amount (at least 200 nodes). It would take 24 hours to perform the change and would completely respect the weapon, and would take a few commendations, glimmer, and a lot of weapon parts. You can also apply elemental nodes to chest armor, making your shield have resistance to a certain element (PvE only). Adding the resistance completely respecs the armor, takes a few commendations, class specific mats, glimmer, and a lot of element nodes. I would like to hear feedback from anyone. I will accept questions, comments, and rude remarks.
