Here is my theory about Xur and how he will sell the ghorn but probably not just yet. I think xur is going to be used by bungie to prolong the interest of people who may otherwise leave the game temporarily at least while they wait for new content (as we see in a lot of posts here recently). This will be done by drip feeding us top end most desired weapons one every 4 weeks (roughly). This is my theory as if everyone had been given an icebreaker, ghorn, suros, red death one after another people would have a lot of or all of the guns they hope to get, wouldve maxed them, played with them? And might get bored and leave the game... obviously some people still will anyway. How many people bought an icebreaker the most recent time xur sold it... and how many would buy a ghorn if he sold it now, including some who had gone for a break from the game but hear that it is being sold. And then in the days/weeks after that... everyone who has bought it wants to play with and max their new toy... so it would boost the number of people playing.. rather than the number being a steady decline. So i predict that xur will sell ghorn in the coming weeks or months, as bungie must monitor user numbers and would want to keep people playing. Giving people the guns everyone wants... ie. Icebreaker, Ghorn, red death (for CE) and suros etc... is a way to keep people playing, but it would be done gradually. Please note this is NOT another sulky post about destiny/xur... i love the game and have no intention of stopping playing, going to be playing right through to the next expansion... this is just a theory of mine... anyone agree?
