Vanity items aren't pay-to-win, people. I didn't see anything in OP's post that suggested handing out end-game weapons/gear.

Yeah I'm not suggesting you give away the latest 20% of content but all the old stuff that's pretty nearly garbage anyways should be available for a nominal fee. Xur already sells exotics why not turn strange coin into real coin and expand his inventory?

Because I don't have the time or desire to go back to VoG to farm purples so I can turn around and dismantle them the first chance I get. Let me purchase them for 50 cents a piece and send my on my way back out into the field to enjoy what little content there is to enjoy. The end goal here is not to rush to the end but to get Bungie some more money so that MAYBE just maybe we can get some more content. I will edit my opening post to reflect these thoughts.

because you still have to earn strange coins and I for one cherish every one of them that I earn, because the cryptarch hates me. I have not seen a strange coin in an engram in a month and a half,but on the flip side i have 1000 weapon parts and 1500 hadronic essence. And the thought of making it so that you can just buy them completely nulls any sense of accomplishment of legitimately earning them when you know some little kid just used his daddys plastic to buy more of them than he will ever need.

Cosmetic items that provide no real advantage such as ships, sparrows, ghost shells, class items, player emblems, shaders, etc. would make great cash shop items. They could even sell gun shaders exclusively through this cash shop. I'm fine with pretty much anything so long as it's cosmetic in nature.

I like the idea of a gun shader that would be legit. And these are all just ideas. Maybe selling shards AND gear is too OP but Xur gives them away like candy and random rewards from pvp reward even the laziest gamers. Why not save your self some time and frustration and just buy a Gjallahorn for 5 bucks and move on with your life.

Especially if Xur had the aforementioned inventory available for strange coins or cash monies. I have had upwards of 80 strange coins and no gear worth buying. And I also think if you are working hard every day for a pay check that should count the same as someone working hard in spending all day to complete all tasks available. Not everyone has 6-8 hours a day to commit to the D especially when most of it's content is requires nothing but monotonous grind.

When they removed the ability to sell material for marks it caused my average play time time to drop from 3-4 hours a day to 1-2 hours a day and if they implemented yet another way to shortcut the game I may just stop playing altogether.

I will not spend time on PVP because of their god forsaken auto aim that I don't want and they wont let me turn off. Maybe the solution here is not to give Bungie more money but to stop supporting them entirely for pissing in our pockets and telling us it's rain... *goes back to Far Cry 4 with aim assists turned off and mildly amusing banter*

The radiant mats are the one thing I'll disagree with adding to this. Edit: I read that as "exotic ships". I'll disagree to exotics as well
