I'm sure this has been answered but I've not been able to get any information about it.
Does it matter if you're a 29 or 29 "1/2", as in if you have you light bar half full to the next level do you deal extra damage?
I thought the only difference was once each level was hit, a buddy of mine told be someone close to a 30 would deal out more damage than someone who just "became" a 29.

I was told that the damage buff/debuff you get is based on the amount of light you have, and not the level of your character. They only correlate with each other.

Edited by robofighter4: 12/10/2014 3:00:12 PMIt's just the level, not the progress to the next level. The difference will, however, be that in general a "29.1" will have less defense compared to a "29.9", which will effect how many hits from enemies he/she will be able to take before going down.

Anyone think/know its the other way around?

You're friend was wrong. The damage calculate deal it out according to you integer level, meaning regardless of where you are in the progress bar, the damage output and resistance (if any), will be the same.

I always wondered this too so I equipped gear that made me barely 29, and 29 1/2....I didn't notice any difference in damage done. But that's all I checked. I think a new 29 has the same damage etc as an almost 30.
