Do you actually ROLE PLAY in RPG's?

I really like making a story out of a video game. For example: In mass effect you could make numerous choices, so my character's backstory (Earthborn) can purposely effect how I would make my decisions. If I had a Shepard with a bad past, I would purposely make worse decisions and stay in character.

  • No, role playing just seems pointless to me, I tried it once on Skyrim and found it instantly restricted my character, I couldn't take perks from certain trees, most crafting elements were instantly out because they just didn't seem like something "my character would do", I did a quest where you can get a useful perk out of it, but because of my character's "background" I had to do the complete wrong thing, failing the quest. I'd rather not limit my hours of playtime. Though I do always try to challenge myself. Play the game on master, don't use cheap enchantments, kill an ancient dragon with a woodcutter's axe etc etc.
