For the stuff that Bungie won't talk about, there's Event Horizon.

At Event Horizon we report the news and stories that Bungie won't, like bots, vehicles, and weapons. A little bit of common sense and confirmed information are top priortiy, and if you see something printed here you can be pretty sure you'll see it in Halo 2. So for the best stories and intelligent discussion of the best FPS shooter, it's only at Event Horizon. Hope to see you there! ~Monk007

 • REDVSBLUE, thanks for the nice comments, but I am wondering, what is the BATTLEGROUND? Is that your chapter, or clan, or something?

 • Well, for two reasons actually. Firstly, yes, it was the picture that gave me the idea. I wondered how a normal bolt suddenly got so huge, and if you look at other bolts in other pictures that Bungie has released, the size for a regular bolt hasn't seemed to change. So, the bolt's sudden increase in size had to be attributed to something, and that something seemed to quite naturally be the two plasma pistols that the player was duel-weilding. Second, it makes sense. In the books and in the game, bolts or similar blasts of plasma (like a Fuel Rod Gun's or Hunter's plasma weapon) have usually been described as superheated blobs of plasma. Now if you are firing two bolts mearly inches away from each other, it is not unreasonable to say that the two blobs meld together, forming a blast twice as powerful as a single bolt, ie, a Superbolt. But I doubt that a Superbolt would track as well or at all compared to a regular bolt because (1) The bolts have already melded, which would probably wreak havoc on the bolts' individual tracking mechanisms, and (2) because something so powerful as a Superbolt would have to be balanced, and removing the tracking ability would seem a natural choice. I hope this has answered your questions, and if you're still not sure, I suggest you take a look at the Halo 2 article in Game Informer Magazine. I would provide a link to the picture, but as per the forum rules, I cannot(at least until they lift the restriction.) And if anyone else is wondering what I'm talking about, I suggest you visit Event Horizon and take a look at the Weapons of Halo 2 article. If you can't find it, it's because you need to be a member to read it. Thanks for your interest.

 • So...you're basing your "superbolt" theory on a picture out of a magazine?
