Great post. Tho I understand what the game says, and your theory. But. I presonaly like the idea they were once human, or an awoken, that got SERIOUSLY F-ed up. Turning them into a cyborg. Now the only living parts are their brain, heart, lungs, perhaps stomach tho idk. Here's how I see it, opinions may differ. The bio says they're war machines, created by humans. It's possible humans had idea to make a cyborg soldier, but needed a volunteer, a Robocop. But unlike Murphy, who was forced into a cyborg. These Exo volunteers, were visited while they were on a hospital bed, missing both legs, an arm, crushed ribs, basically look like shtick. Agents come holding a clipboard "We have an experimental project, that "could" save your life. You might not be completely yourself, but your mind will be your own. All we ask... Is your name." This is how I see it. If anything the Traveler may of gavin a jolt to power the cyborg. Tho, I don't like the taking your memories, cus you'd forget how to hold a gun, tho Ghost does reference this at the start. BUT. It might be a little lore breaking, but this is what I wanna believe my Exo is. A cyborg. Who was part of a squad, but was dead for a year till Ghost found him.
