inactive, return to orbit BS
I am really getting tire of being kicked out of the middle of the game because i was inactive for a short bit. This was never a problem in the beta WTF! Bungie, make the time frame longer like it was in the beta. There is a huge group of people playing Destiny who have kids and need to stop playing for a bit to take care of the issue.
Is anyone else having this issue and tired of it?

I went to explore the moon and left my guardian at its spawning point. it took 14.5 minutes to return me to orbit. I landed at 8:32:15, give or take a few seconds and was kicked out at 8:46:45, give or take a few seconds. I will test this again in a few different places and have some friends do the same this weekend. I will try and post the findings later. If anyone else finds their time frame post it and a description of what you were doing, where you were, and if you were solo or on a fire team. Thanks.

Hay guys thanks for your comments on this subject. I do agree that in some ways this is a good thing but i also believe that the time frame should be lengthened a bit. I do not know how long the current time frame is but if i find the time i will try and figure it out. during the beta you were able to sit there on a hill side and watch the scenery. hell i even got a nice 15 + minute video of just the weather. it is just irritating because i have to constantly step away from the game to take care of my daughter or other business and when i come back i am in orbit.

I'm not tired of it. I wish we had a way to kick people off who just stand there. There's no reason for that shit. I get that you might be suddenly busy, it happens to all of us, but you should just leave that game then. You're just pissing off your teammates. Nobody is sad to see you go. It sounds like you do it a lot too. I have zero sympathy for you. I actually think that people who keep doing it like that should get a temporary ban from strikes (assuming you're doing it on strikes).

6 RepliesI literally just got sent back to orbit a few minutes ago while trying to complete the summoning pits strike on level 26 for the thorn which I keep getting spawned for by myself , I almost had finished it and it had taken me a little over 30 minutes to get to just before the room with Phogath and I took a quick break to take care of a few things and as I was turning the PS3 controller back on the little notification popped up and said it was sending me to orbit due to inactivity. I'm a Level 26 hunter and it was insanely difficult to get so far on my own but was also fun but not so much fun that I'd ever want to repeat that strike on my own again.

Sure I was probably seconds from being kicked, but I think this inactive kicking is a good feature. I've seen dumbsh*ts try to sit through a strike or a PvP match for free rewards, but... oh yeah, they didn't do anything and don't deserve anything.

Yeah, this is definitely an issue for me and my friends. We've tried completing PoE 35 twice now. Each time we make it to round 6 someone either has to leave for work/band practice/caring for children or we just need a break, and we kicked for waiting. Tried the rubber band trick both times but nothing worked. Definitely not cool. I've wasted too much time on this. At least give a save after each round.

The issue I have is that I was at the end of this weeks Nightfall, and just about to face the boss, I was soloing it so no one else was waiting on me, obviously there were no other players around because it was a private space. I leave for 15 minutes to tend to something, and I when I return, all seems fine, I pick up the controller, and it sends me to orbit due to inactivity as I'm actually moving... it took me quite a while to get to the end, and I had failed out of the strike 3 times already. Frankly if for all intents and purposes it was a single player game at that point, I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to pause it...

Here is a really great idea if bungie is going to kick us to orbit it should automatically create checkpoint /save where you were and should be able to use it for mayb 30 min maybe less for strikes etc of course crucible could not be considered since its to short and would have ended

10 RepliesIf you have responsibilities you need to attend to on a regular basis, you shouldnt be playing a game like destiny, you should play a single player you can pause whenever you like. Dont bother other people with your personal problems, thats exactly what the system is for. Should be shorter, imo
