Centipede University Connection Issue
After installing the game twice and thoroughly testing my connection I have deduced that if you are getting the centipede error code like I am that Bungie has not adjusted for University hubs or server connection. No one on my floor can play and are getting the same error code. My brother is not at University and is getting the Cattle error. I'm not sure what is going on but I hope these issues are resolved as soon as possible because I'm already weary of this purchase. I love Bungie but mass server issues and error codes on the first night sends a bad message. Furthermore there is no support to assist. I will see what happens tomorrow but my guess is that these issues will not be fully resolved any time soon. It also seems odd that one specific code is designed for University hub/server errors. Who else are having these issues? What is happening elsewhere?

The ticket may be reexamined later in the year after the high priority tickets are completed. The firewall blocks incoming connection attempts only. Applications such as games that don't work due to the firewall are likely attempting to publish services to, and accept unlimited connections from, the entire Internet. That is not allowed. Our Procera device blocks, via heuristics, a variety of protocols typically used in file sharing applications that would flood the network with large amounts of non-academic, non-business traffic and crowd out other users. Applications such as games that don't work may also be attempting to leverage such protocols. That is not allowed." This is absolutely ridiculous! Other universities are willing to work on the issue and mine won't even bat an eye at it. If there is any one from ONU on the forms, please contact the IT Department and give them a stern email. Perhaps we can convince them to rethink about 'not having the time to work on the ticket'.

From New Zealand here. I am getting network error codes too like beaver and leopard! I live in uni dorms and I keep getting disconnected when people enter my game, I can't even enter the tower. Believe it or not I played the beta with no problem! All other online games work perfectly fine too! Went to the midnight launch and everything so I'm pretty bummed out.

2 RepliesUPDATE for all Kent State University students on this thread. Mostly good news! So, I debated with myself whether I wanted to go bug The Tech Spot in Tri, and decided to do it. The guy I talked to, told me he got an update from whomever in the IT that they were working on the issue. He told me that the software they use for their network stuff is obviously blocking the P2P connectivity. He told me that, the software they use is actually out for an update, to allow that certain P2P connection across the network. He said once it was updated everybody should be able to play. The only not so fun news to hear was the time frame he gave me. He said depending, it may take a week, even more. He simply said it just all depends. So I guess besides staying patient, Kent State is in the right direction(according to Tech Spot).
