I believe OP, this shit is not far fetched at all. I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and this pretty much summed up anytime I tried to play Pokemon, Zelda, hell even watching Power Rangers or stuff like that. My father threw away my CD collection once, which had stuff like Linkin Park and Eminem, even Hoobastank or fuggen Maroon 5. My mom threw away my Pearl Version which I had his so well and poured hours into, being my first Pokemon game that I bought myself and saved up for. Worst feels. OP, if story is true, endure!
