You gut butt -blam!- by someone better than you.. didn't you? :P Also, how can "We on Destiny" be even somewhat accurate? I'm going to purchase Destiny and I'll be happy to see some MLG matches and even get my ass kicked a few times in one as well. It's all fun and games until someone can't take it any more and complains (like you) and they leave because bad attention is caught on them. They have never been the problem, it's the less skilled and whiny community (YOU) that complain to the developers and get their way.

1 ReplyI have no love of MLG players, but I think we can all agree no one wants to play games with your 7 y/o nephew. Probably doesn't deserve to be called names, but we don't want to hear his squeaky voice on comms. Have him play an age appropriate game.

Also I think you're mistaken between actual MLG players, who are mostly mature and respectful people trying to play with people of their skill and mostly keep to themselves when possible, with young kids that think putting MLG in their screen name makes them any cooler in public matches. The pros have better things to do than insult kids. I am not and have never been affiliated to MLG in any way, shape of form, and I also have a deep hatred for CoD, but I don't think that should stop them from being able to compete on Destiny. The game has a lot to gain from making a good home for them. Also I have to wonder why you would ever want to limit the experience of other people when it has absolutely no effect on the experience you will have? MLG players very rarely compete on public matches.

Lol, been playing games online since I was like 6 without a parent watching over me. Mute people when he plays, or don't let him play, or at the very least join a party or whatever the PS equivalent is, because game chat is no place for a small kid (especially not COD game chat). Otherwise, he'll have to learn to get used to the utter bull that people will spew in game chat. You can't try to bar certain members of the community, and you can't make the assumption that MLG=CODDOUCHE. The people you encountered calling your nephew these things are just regular members of the COD or whatever community. It's likely that those kinds of people will stick to COD or whatever anyway, which makes me happy because I've always disliked those people that fiercely spewed out profanity and racist/homophobic slurs because they were bad at a game they spent all their time on (Regardless of the fact that the game they're playing is probably more luck-reliant then they've ever imagined) Although your mentality is somewhat like a racist's or a homophobic's. "Some members of the MLG community said/did bad stuff, so I have good reason to hate them". You don't even slightly know everyone in the MLG community, but in the instance that you do feel free to judge them as you wish. (And who doesn't want a game specifically catered to their needs? Everyone wants that, but some of us are more vocal about it. Pssht)

Actual MLG players don't even play the same playlists as your normal pub stomper in fact most of the time we're in custom games playing matches against other teams. MLG isn't the problem, it's the fact that you're allowing a kid to play with adults who most of the time are immature dicks to children.

They hold themselves on a pedestal for having a high K/D and think that if you do not play competitively to an excruciating extent then you have no right to play games. MLG players suck most of the fun out of competitive game modes, by their general douchebaggery and hate towards players who don't play the same way that they do. Although I would like to not see MLG in Destiny, it's most certainly inevitable.
