Let's all face facts so that we can strengthen our community
1. Exclusivity sucks balls
2. PS4 is slightly better than Xbox one, but barely
3. Sony is slightly better than Microsoft, but has the exact same goal: make profit
4. Xbox live is slightly better than PSN, but barely
5. The exploration areas in Destiny aren't as big as we all hoped, but Bungie still says that this is the biggest game they've ever made, and 500 people have been working on it daily, so we shouldn't jump to conclusions till we experience the real deal for ourselves.
6. Just because you disagree with someone, doesn't mean you should disrespect them. Start a discussion with condescension, and its no longer a discussion. In an argument, both you and the other guy think you're right, and so you should judge the other person with that in mind. If they're being calm and respectful and you're being rude and malicious, then it doesn't matter if you're right or not, you still look like a dick.
7. Trolls are a part of life, learn to recognise them.
8. That person you just tore to shreds on the forum could genuinely be a well-meaning 11 year old. I'm not saying you should censor your opinion, but just remind yourself every now and then that there actually are vulnerable little kids on these forums.
9. People are entitled to their opinion about Destiny. Somebody has had an experience, and you can't change that experience. If someone 'just doesn't like it', then you could write a whole series of books about why you disagree, and it wouldn't change a thing about the experience they had. You can disagree with their reasoning, but you can't change their experience.
10. Nobody's perfect (least of all me), but if we treat people harshly then they'll never change. Studies have shown that an attack on our beliefs, triggers the same response in the brain as a physical attack. We get defensive, even if we are proven wrong, and especially if we've been treated with vitriol or condescension. Give people a chance to admit their wrongs, and don't be so hasty to use insults and inflammatory language. This is what drives people apart in a place that's meant to bring people together.
Be brave, be the change.

I feel that bungie is trying to stick it to Microsoft for taking Halo. It is fair. But do I really Care about one area or one mission? Not really. And sony runs Microsoft software in their comps..... Have they had any major changes to the interface of PS4 recently or updated in a major way? I have no clue and am wondering.

1 ReplyYour always going to get the extremes, the die hard xbox or playstation fans that will agrue regardless, then in the middle you'll have the rest of the community that doesn't really care and lastly you'll have people like me that just throw fuel on the fire. The ps4 vs xbox arguement/discussion is something i have had many times with friends. The hardward and os differences in the two machines isnt much but it does give the edge to ps4. However this doesn't mean the xb1 is rubbish. Exclusive games on both platforms will look amazing, cross platform games generally will be better on ps4 and as somy has done a massive amount of hobnobing with devs they seem to have a great number on side. People will start to truely notice a difference in games 2 years from now.

1 ReplySir, you're speaking entirely too much sense. Hopefully people will respect six through ten before they comment about one through five. Maybe the facts should be reorganized so the "be a good person" ones are read [i]before[/i] the ones that people are willing to be bad to each other over. Thumbs up, though, in general! I don't think I've seen a thread in this vein where I actually agreed about the "facts" to get straight.

28 RepliesBut those aren't facts. My xbox one is a lot better than my ps4. Xbox live is a lot better than psn plus. I'm not a fan boy either I have a playstation, ps2, ps3, ps4 and I'm a psn plus subscriber. So this isn't a biased statement.

1 ReplyI read opinion. A console is better for different people by what different people need/want. so by that PS4 is better for different people and XBL is better for different people. Fact is facts change depending on who you ask. nothing is set in stone.

1 ReplyAll I have to say to this post is meh. 1. Console wars don't matter. You have whichever console you wanted. Good, bad, mediocre...doesn't matter. You have what you want. That's all that matters. 2. "Someone could be a 10/11 year old". What crappy parenting lets you allow your child to go to a place where you don't know for a fact what's going to be there. As a parent I know exactly where my child goes and what is looked at, nothing gets past me. So if you let your child come here, so be it. Don't get all bent out of shape when they read something they deem offensive. And if you comment something stupid, don't be shocked when there's a stupid response. 3. A mental attack triggers the same....yada yada. Grow up. The world is full of opinions, if you voice yours, guess what? You will get a conflicting opinion back. 2 RepliesAren't some of these opinions, not facts. Like Xbox Live vs PSN, I mean PSN is cheaper, so it's really an opinion. And to clarify, PS4 is better by tech specs as a fact, but overall, what if you want titanfall, halo, tv and movie entertainment features? Also what's wrong with harmless exclusivity? Doesn't hurt others. It's more of a gesture than anything and makes people feel good. Like cosmetic IAP.
