Pre-Ordering Digital Game from Gamestop.com. How does it work, what are your Experiences?

http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-one/games/destiny-digital-guardian-edition/116873 So Destiny's Digital Guardian Edition will be available on the Xbox One Marketplace. But Im going to buy it from Gamestop for the Pre-Order Bonuses. From the looks of it, they are essentially going to E-mail me a $90.00 Microsoft Points/Currency Code to buy the game off the Market Place. (i will have to pay the tax separately) Then at some point they will E-mail the Pre-Order Bonus Codes. Will they send the Codes before the game Releases so Im ready to download? I'm basically buying $90.00 of microsoft points for access to Pre-order bonuses. How do they normally handle these things?

  • I buy most of my digital games from gamestop if I can. Yes they are basically just giving you a $90 code. I would recommend doing it at a store. That way you can get the pre order bonus when you pick up your digital code. If you are doing it online I don't know what the process is for receiving preorder bonuses. Also, I was wondering, I have never paid tax on a digital purchase, have you? Xbox is also starting a program that will now allow retailers to sell the actual digital game. What I mean is that the code you are given won't be for MS$ but a code that is for the game itself. It is in a kind of BETA stage and are trying it with Max curse of brotherhood and another small game. I hope this helps.
