The way I see it.

The way i see things on the forge front for Destiny are like this.. so far Bungie havent said a word about a map editor and there was no evidence of one in the Beta. However I think Bungie may have something so big for this that theyre keeping it classified, my reasons for thinking this are as follows. Bring your mind back to the purchase of "Shadowrun" which gave Xbox360 players exclusive Halo 3 beta access, there was no test for forge. Bungie had announced the forge for Halo3 and forge 2.0 for Halo Reach however I think that after the failure of 343's forge 3.0 and with the help of the cloud and present or next gen consoles Bungie may have put the final bullet in this mother. So far they are keeping extremely quiet about map editing capabilities on all social media and at interviews, the only shred of talk on the subject is from an interview with a Bungie employee who says that the thought of user created content exites him a lot. They know from both Halo3 and Reach that there is a huge community for this and have made comments on how astounded they were to see the forge take off as it did in the past. So I think i can safely presume its a high possibility that good ole Bungie have something tucked up their sleeves as we all know from experience they usually do keep some mindblowing aspects of their games rather hush hush.

  • There may be a possibility of forging without private matches, maybe the creation of an instance with the ability to grant players world engiene capabilities or perhaps in a future update or dlc we could be graced with it.. after all bungie have said theyre exicted about user created content, aside from a form of forge what can users create in destiny?

  • No custom maps if there are no custom games. Hopefully my suspicions are correct and they'll release free DLC for this stuff once everyone has had time to enjoy the game in the way they originally intended. Imagine if those options were only unlocked after the player completes the campaign? Now THAT would make some headlines...

  • There are no private matches. Forge will not be in the first Destiny. Maybe Destiny 2. I would be money on Destiny 3.

  • Forge would be awesome. The only thing I can think of that may kind of clash with implementing a forge mode is how bungie expresses that they will add content very regularly with their grognok. The community won't put anyone out of a job of course, but idk just food for thought. Ideally, we would all want forge and dev content. This games 10 year plan would extend beyond the current scope. Bungie- "We want to hand the game over to players and see what they do with it" We're waiting bungie. We're ready. Forge fulfills that phrase more than anything else currently known in the game. There would be so Much user content made for all types of reasons and uses, Any type of player would be happy with it. I hope we get that mode at some point in time.
