I mean they have a standing army more than a million strong. Each member of that army can wade into battle outnumbered 100:1 and still win. Not only that but they are IMMORTAL. Killing a guardian only pisses them off.
No worries your city is protected by millions of immortal juggernauts. With magical powers to boot.

Imagine looking out the window and seeing your cities defenders performing a Conga Line and tea bagging a huge purple ball
-
But..highlander told me there can only be one..much disappoint, such sad
-
The fact that the speaker says that only you can stop it is kind of stupid and overused. There are millions of guardians and the speaker says to each one that they are the only one who can stop the darkness. Kind of like only you can prevent wildfires.
-
My guess is that there's a fear that when the Darkness makes another push it'll be like those darkness zones with no respawning. It'll just consume the city.
-
They are not immortal in the beginning of the game the Fallen are scoping out your Ghost trying to destroy it and on the moon one of them along with the Guardian are both dead. If your Ghost dies no one can bring you back to life.
-
Even Rome fell.
-
You are mixing the story line with the game mechanics the story is that there a few of you and on the moon *spoilers* you find a dead guardian who cannot be revived.
-
7/8 of the guardians are immature whiners that complain about having to wait 3 hours the night of the opening. That's why the city should be worried. The man guardians are going to be the ones that the city will be relying on! Not the lazy spoiled whiners

Edited by Josenight: 9/7/2014 1:20:39 PMAnyway the new manorchy guys are -fued becuase if shit gets real they dont wanna leave. Thats why dead orbit are prepared and will bail and leave everyone behind xD
-
There's a reason its the last city
-
Something weird about the traveler that so many DIFERENT ADVANCED races want the thing dead. And of course he comes to the least advanced to "protect" it. I don't trust the traveler.
-
If you are with Dead orbit you shall not worry. Our job is to find a better home . We need to flee for the stars. Since we know we are being under attack it is best that we go some place safer . Leave that for the city to think about. Not that I want to abandoned the city I want to protect it also. I'll stay back and become the Dead Orbits fallen who never left his people behind. PS . I just love dead orbits gear and emblems and if you want to build up discipline and strength well dead orbit is the perfect fit.
-
In the story it is alluded that around a thousand guardians go dark every once in awhile
-
Well, if the Traveller dies, we lose our immortality... Just through a few of those lvl ??? Ogres at us and we might all have a problem.
-
The Darkness has more power than you think
-
I think some kind of huge public combat event involving the tower under seige would be epic. Probably unfeasible but still awesome.
-
theres 3 enemy races worth of enemies to kill. Guarantee that is more than a million.
-
I think we(guardians) are out numbered, if all the "darkness" was to come in the city we might all die..
-
Why dont we kill all the people then take earth for ourselves exo master race! #Exopussyisthebestkindofpussy
-
To be fair all guardians are not fighting the enemy...they are fighting which console is better xbox or sony -.-
-
Why Destiny is silly. There are going to be millions of "last hopes" for the city when the game launches... then everyone will realize how stupid this game is.
-
Because half the guardians defending the city are complete dipshits on the forums.
-
What's stopping the fallen just dropping the equivalent of a nuke on the last city? No need to even set foot on earth and fight guardians. You can't really argue that the traveller would protect the earth, as he certainly isn't doing a very good job if all the Fallen running around Russia is anything to go by Ultimately, the vogons in hitch hikers guide to the galaxy had the best idea - they simply blew up the earth! Job done! And the shortest videogame ever :D
-
Actually Guardians arent immortal,if you kill the ghost the Guardian dies.
-
Well, since a vast majority of their guardians are constantly jumping off the edges of the city and dancing in the crucible... they have a very good reason to be nervous.
