This was my mentality too. My friend pre-ordered the limited edition and wanted the ghost too and I was looking at them as the geek in me was interested. Then I thought whats the point, I will never use the extra stuff that comes with it (the book, or Ghost etc) and it will lose its value over time and be worthless to the majority once the servers are shut down.. So thought it would be better to spend the money on some Turtlebeach headphones which will allow me to: A) Listen in glorious surround B) Not annoy my Girlfriend with the constant gun fire C) Ignore my Girlfriend as I wont be able to hear her (I did have a good surround setup until I moved house, the layout of my living room doesn't allow it to be setup and can't run any wiring as its a rented house).

Forget turtle beach! look at Astros because you want that astro proamp mixer. For the awesome sounds. Or you can get the sennheiser g4me one head phones but you will need that astro mixamp its around $115 but you will have 7.1 surround sound. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s_ss_i_2_9?k=astro+mixamp+pro+2014&sprefix=astro+mix

  • Headset sure is a good investment when living with a non-gamer :-D Luckily I already have the Turtlebeach PX4, so it's the Ghost edition for me ^^ (the turtlebeach are indeed good headphones, you won't regret it... if only Sony could get their heads out of their asses and enable bluetooth support for 3rd party devices...)

  • The PX4 is what I was looking at. Would you recommend them then? I tried them on in a shop and they were really comfortable which is what sold me on them.

  • Yes, I'm happy with them. Headphone-wise I'm more of a in-ear guy because most over-the-ears headphones are uncomfortable for me, but the PX4 are fine even for longer sessions. Sound-quality is good too (sure, they are not as good as my Shure SE530, but do well enough). They would be perfect when the bluetooth connection would word, but that's a problem created by Sony, not turtle beach. The mic-cable between controller and headset isn't that big of a deal, but wireless would be better and the cable solution has no mute-functionality. (I will solder in a switch from my old xbox headset to solve that problem...)
