Weapons

Which guns need improvement?

More Accurate Weapon Functions.

Don't know if anybody else has noticed, but while playing the Beta, I noticed that on some weapons (like the AR and Machine Gun) you would charge the charging handle when reloading, regardless of whether or not there was already a round in the chamber. That extra (and pointless) charging animation got me killed more than a few times when there was no need to actually charge the weapon in the first place. I found this VERY annoying. For anybody not familiar with the concept of "Charging a Weapon" - A weapon has a "Bolt" that pushes a round into the "Chamber" where it is fired. The "Bolt" then "Extracts" the spent case and flings or drops it out the side. The "Bolt" is then pushed back forwards "Chambering" another round from the magazine. So if you reload, and there is already a round "Chambered" and you "Charge" the weapon. You will have succeeded in throwing that good round away. If you do happen to fire an entire magazine. Then, and only then, should you manually charge the weapon.

  • EVERYONE IS MISSING THE POINT. #1 If they get rid of the dumb 1 size fits all animation, you will RELOAD FASTER which = more shooting time for you and less dying! #2 there is absolutely no reason to do it! (charge) #3 if you did there would be a shell ejected! (which isnt!) Adding gun jams ect. does not make sense becuase those are rare occurances overall, and this is the future with better guns, but something within the realm of physics like cocking the hamemr when not needed should be in there. IT BENEFITS EVERYONE.

  • Then they should accurately add jammed guns, miss fires, broke parts and having to clean out the gun..... Get over it

    • I actually prefer the full animation. Useless and "unrealistic" sure, but it just...looks better to me. Not sure why. Also: this is 700+ years in the future. The guns are loaded with all sorts of sci-fi tech. "Charging" a weapon could mean exactly that: charging the ammunition or firing mechanism from some kind of onboard micro-generator.

      • ANYONE WHO PREFERS THE FULL HAMMER COCK WHEN IT IS 100% NOT NEEDED IS AN IDIOT. Sorry. But its true. I don't care what anyone says about the future. It uses same physics. Hell you load plastic and brass shells in shotguns for crying out loud, shells from the 50's lol It works on the same principle, firing pin, thus ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for a hammer cock when there was a premature reload.

      • It's the little things that add realism and immersion to your games. I think if you're going to do something do it right make the system correct.

        • Should they also lower the total number of rounds you have by the number left in the magazine that you just ejected?

          • If an enemy is shooting at you, why are you reloading in the middle of the magazine? If there is a low in fire, take cover then reload. On the realism factor, I am a US Marine vet, when training, they teach us to recharge your weapon after reloading. The removal, and insertion of a fresh mag causes a change in pressure of the gun, increasing the chance of jamming. Its one -blam!-ing bullet, unless you are drastically low on ammo, one won't matter.

            • Maybe we can toss in some good old misfires too. How crazy would it be to be in the middle of a firefight and have rounds left in the mag...............and click...........misfire!!! Have the occasional grenade that doesn't detonate...........or even cooks off too fast.

              • Play any other shooter if it's that big of a deal? Honestly, it's a game. Does it matter? Think of it this way, what if both of them (both with and without charging) took the same amount of time. Would it matter, honestly?

                • It's slightly irksome to the eye, but I don't think it to be incredibly vital. It would be nice to fix, but it wouldnt be skin off of my back if they didnt.

                    • I found it annoying myself, but just to play devils advocate, they are now training people (actual real life military) to chamber a new round when you swap mags no matter what, that way you KNOW you have a round in the chamber. So while annoying it is, from a military standpoint, accurate.

                      • *laughs* I noticed this as well, kinda annoying. Switching a partial magazine, only to "rechamber" a round? Ridiculous! It's the future and we have to rechamber for some reason... Meh, it's defiantly not a deal breaker, but I would like to see this fixed.

                      • these weapons are make believe, but if that's an issue then here's a solution keep an ammo count, when you see a low ammo that isn't worth charging then just reload, easy
