Getting a lot of whiners (I know, what's new) about the MM. And one thing I keep hearing is "Why should I be restricted from part of the game, I have a job, wife, family, school whatever, so it should be changed to ensure I can play. After all I paid just as much as you.
Yet none of those people stop to think about the players these raids are designed for. And Bungie has been pretty vocal about wanting to have something for every type of gamer. Creating activities for every mood, or every type of gamer, means not everyone is going to like or be able to do every activity.
If you're not the type of person that can schedule a time with 5 other people to tackle the hardest co-op experience in the game, then raids weren't designed for you. And it's extremely selfish and entitled of you to say that the raid Bungie designed for those players should cater to your play style.
Want MM co-op dungeion, there will be probably 20 times as many strikes designed just for you than there will be raids designed for raiders. Want PVP, well Bungie has you covered as well. Want story, either lone wolf or co-op, covered. Want to explore every nook and cranny of the different worlds, covered.
Between strikes, PVP, nighfall events and other limited time activities that Bungie will be providing, the 1 raid is probably like 5% of the available endgame activities. Someone only interested in PVE and skipping out on PVP is going to be missing much more of the game that someone that isn't able to raid. And since powerful exotics can be obtained in every activity, you aren't going to be out gunned by someone that can raid.
TL:DR
Creating activities for every mood, or every type of gamer, means not everyone is going to like or be able to do every activity. There's still an abundance of activities designed for you.
And it's extremely selfish and entitled of you to say that the raid Bungie designed for those players should cater to your play style.
Pull your head out of your bum. Because you need to shove your foot in your mouth. I'M NOT ASKING THAT BUNGIE CUT DOWN RAID CONTENT SO THAT MOUTH BREATHING MORONS CAN FACE ROLL THROUGH IT. I'M ASKING FOR A MMING FUNCTION SO THAT I CAN PARTICIPATE WHEN I CAN INSTEAD OF HAVING TO RELIVE THE TEDIUM AND DRAMA AND BULL-blam!- OF PLAYING WORLD OF WARCRAFT AGAIN.

I paid $60 for dark souls, make it easy so i can experience the whole game!
-
I paid $449.99 plus about $10 tax for the ps4 bundle.

I completely agree. I'm one of those who will have a hard time scheduling raids with others. No problem! The only issue to me is that I would have loved an option to work hard and fight for the best loot in the game in more than one way... what's the harm in also having the best loot available in some sort of solo game mode. Again, in no way am I saying it should be easy. Me personally - I wasn't even thinking about missing out on Raids until I heard bungie say this how you will obtain the best loot in the game. It would be nice to have more than one way to grind for the best loot. Being that it is one of the most addictive parts of a game like this.

Edited by Deuterium: 8/8/2014 6:15:45 AMSo none of my friends have xbox one or getting the game. Is that mean I can't play raids?

Raids are going to be the one part of Destiny.. Of a shooter PEIROD, I can HOPEFULLY compare to Dark Souls.. That game isn't for everyone. And the reason why? Because it has a lerning curb, it requires you to adapt, pay attention and figure out what you need to do on your own, or with a friend or two, or five.. It isn't something you'll pick up a controller, play around with it a little and instantly understand it or be able to do alright at it.. That isn't what it's meant for. The fact Bungie is willing to make a part of them game only FOR the most die-hard bad ass players of it, is fantastic. The fact that everything is pretty much just handed to everyone in a game these days is just so.. Boring. What's the point of special armor, if everyone is able to get access to it after just grinding A dungeon, or kill B boss so many times? Then it really isn't that special... There isn't a sense of accomplishment in obtaining a piece of gear that you KNOW you've earned, if things are just watered down for everyone to do it.. It ruins the whole point. I have no friends on playstation, and I'll still be trying to make friends on there, so I can do raids, so I can get my ass kicked, so I can learn.. And so I can finally kick that raids ass, make some new friends, get some sweet loot, and go to bed later that day knowing I earned whatever sick loot I got. Okay.. Rant over. I feel like I might have gotten sidetracked for a bit.. Sorry folks.

It is amazing how many people are attacking your post based off the title. Even if they took a second to read the TL:DR part then they would realize that your title is merely to get people in here and your point is in the complete opposite direction. TL:DR 80% of the lazy posters in here are too STUPID to realize that your title is only an attention grabber.

You payed $60 for what they made. You don't deserve a damn thing.

Edited by Vicex: 8/8/2014 5:45:58 AMI paid 400 USD for the first instalment of my University tuition for this semester.... I deserve to have access to all 4 years of classes. Why should I be restricted from attending the rest required courses for my degree? Edit: Misleading title is misleading.

Edited by iLLahGorilla: 8/8/2014 4:47:59 AMI think this world is going to hell faster than it already is if we just keep compromising and coddling everyone. I'm mainly a lone wolf player and even I met 5 random people and became friends with them on the first day of the beta. I can guarantee will we run raids. This is how raids are setup sorry fellow guardians but how that's it is. Bungie is gracious enough to advise you of this early so you can remedy the fact that you might need more friends. If all of you who were complaining about raids instead used that time to find friends you'd have enough people already. Step out of your comfort zone of not using a headset and being solo and start reaching out.
Yes I am aware that chat is not good at the moment and we need prox chat.
I paid for the game I want to be able to see it all. If they nerf raids I wont be able to see it all, a part of the game will be gone. Something similar will be in its place but not the difficult raid I paid for. It will take time and hard work and dedication and I am more than willing to work for something, there is nothing like the feeling in a game when you overcome something difficult you have been working hard to get to and beat.
-
Just throwing this out there.....the raid isn't restricted to you. Think about it.

The times, they are a changing.

Another one of these posts.

I really dont think the raids will be that hard.

And it's extremely selfish and entitled of you to say that the raid Bungie designed for those players should cater to your play style.
lol you talk about this like it's the easiest thing in the world! I'm sure it might be if you're a part of an online clan or outfit of some sort that plays together regularly, but a LOT of gamers are not, and won't be able to play these sections with any more than one or (rarely) two people at once. I'm a member of an online outfit and proudly so. In a few months, I can get a PS4 and after a few posts on the online forum my outfit is a part of, I can probably get 4 or 5 people to play with me out of our outfit of some 2000 members (our primary game is PlanetSide 2 on PC). But the vast majority of gamers are NOT as well-connected as that. Calling them "selfish" because they want an experience different than you want or expect them to enjoy and appreciate is a true act of selfishness.

"it's extremely selfish and entitled of you to say that the raid Bungie designed for those players should cater to your play style" It's no more selfish or entitled than your view of not allowing MM. If anything it's less so because offering MM would not detract from your experience raiding with clans or friends yet you seem happy to impose your preference on others. Nerfing content is a different topic. I'm all for bungie not nerfing the content, my preferred solution is a disclaimer on matchmaking recommending you organise a raid through forums/clans/wherever but letting you use MM at your own risk. At first a MM group might not have much chance but once the raid has been out for a while the tactics needed will be known and it wont be as special an achievement anyway. TLDR - Allow people the choice of MM, don't nerf the content and if MM raids are as bad as people say they will be people wont end up using them and will join clans anyway.

I don't think half the people in here read your full post, just the title. Sorry about that, since I agree with this post. You don't like the PvP? Yeah, have some PvE. Don't like huge raids? Here's some small strikes. And the same thing in reverse. Don't like PvE? PvP. Don't like strikes? Raids. It's that simple.
-
Okay first off, sweetie you're getting the game. It's just that the DLCs that came out early, that's all. The two extra missions are actually DLC's. that are launching at the same time. Would you rather than wait to come out with it? Well "apparently" you don't understand, "apparently. Lol

i paid $77.99 on colombia for the complete game
-
I hear you, and people need to realize that 60$ dollars doesn't buy you a full game now a days. Atari games started at 25$; NES games started at 49$; PS2 games started at 59$. It's not hard to see where starting prices should be at right now it's just that 100$ a pop is a big pill to swallow. 60$ is just a good spot to get you biting before your rilled in.

Edited by xMeOnFirEx: 8/8/2014 2:48:38 AMI agree and think If you allow MM then "most" people will complain and saying it's too hard and the forums will be flooded with "NERF it Bungie!!!!!!!" all just because they can't finish it with their uncoordinated MM group. If you can't or don't have time to get a raid group together then just let it be. Maybe one day you might have time to do and you will then see what all the fuss is about raids and play it as bungie intended it to be played. :) What I would like to see Instead of MM,is that they should add some sort of text chat in the tower that can be broadcast to everybody (and can be toggled on and off for people with no interest), to help people organize groups together. For e.g "Looking for one more hunter for Raid, must be level 30 and have mic!" Or "level 32 Lock sun spec, looking for raid, no mic but know strats!"
-
"You get NOTHING....good day sir....I SAID GOOD DAY!"
-
...AINT NOBODY GOT TIME TO READ ALL DAT....

You do have access to the entire game. If you can't find the time or friends to play in certain areas I think that falls on you not Bungie.
