Some very short beards would be fine. But remember, these are soldiers. A long beard would not be appropriate. You also have to think about the helmet. There is not a lot of room in them.

  • Last time I checked a lot of special operation soldiers in Afghanistan in real life all rock large beards just saying. And the whole shaved soldier thing. That's only really part of western culture. There are many nations that allow their soldiers to grow beards. And last time I checked Destiny is a fictional world in a one nation one people atmosphere hence the last city on earth thing. I do agree with then not being too large to actually fit inside of an airtight helmet though.

  • I can point to plenty of pictures of soldiers with long beards, but few with hair as long as most guardians. The long hair is more of a danger in CQC, and takes up more room in a helmet than does a beard. Guardians are more individualized than present day soldiers, and very intentionally, too. If beards eat too many processor cycles for some odd reason, then that's a reasonable excuse to have no beards, but "I don't think guardians should have beards" is not. This is one of the few instances where the "if you don't like (x) then don't do (x), but don't try and stop others", argument is actually applicable.

  • If you read my post I said some short beards are fine. I never said "No beards at all".

  • I read your post, and say long beards are fine, too.
