What's that line from les miserables? "I dared to dream a dream worth living."? I've always loved video games, been playing them since I was five, they're my passion. Sadly I am unemployed atm and no colleges in my area teach video game design to begin with, so my only hope is to get a job, move somewhere with the right college, get a grant and maybe in 8, 10 years I can get on somewhere as esteemed as Bungie. But until then, when I'm not working on my plan to design games, I'll just be playing games and throwing out ideas. Regardless, thank you all for liking my ideas, it means a lot, and if you don't like them tell me why and I'll see if it needs improvement, nothing's perfect the first time around.

If you seriously want to get into making games you should learn how to code. Unreal Engine 4 has just become very indie friendly. You only need to pay once for UE4 and it's yours to keep. You'll never need renew your subscription unless you want UE4 updates. You learn how to design games by making games. You'll make some god awful games at first, trust me, but the more you learn the better your games will become. You can't just write a design document and say "Yep, it's all there, now somebody else just needs to make that for me". First, because no-one cares about your game ideas. Especially if you don't even have like a prototype demo you've made yourself. Second, because 9 times out of 10 what you've written on paper doesn't work in practice. If you want to get into the industry you can't just "play games and throw out ideas", you have to actually have skills that employers are actively seeking. Programming, 2D/3D art, animating, audio, writing etc. You need to be very good in your chosen field (in a very competitive and grueling industry) and then with a little luck and a lot of talent, hopefully climb your way up into a Lead position.
