Funny thing; I'm pretty sure they were both confirmed. The "parking lot" was, for sure. I remember them talking about the hangar and describing it much like that

Well, I remember a mailsack where they mention that the hangar is somewhere to show off the pretty spaceships you get, and, in the beta, if you looked around, you could see that there was a stairway into the hangar-area. And then, I remember people saying that there was a sign pointing to the barracks, but with a blocked off door
