Am i the only person that wants the hand CANNON to be more... Cannon-like? Come on people, the hand cannon is a special weapon, through and through.
Here is my final view on the hand cannon.
Switch it over to special weapon, and give it the same damage as a sniper, and take away aim assist. Also, take a little range away, as they shouldnt have the range of a sniper. At this point, you have hand cannons as pocket sniper, and feels right.
And now for the second part: move snipers to heavy slot. This is where i loose a lot of people, as EVERYONE loves sniping in thier own way. But you have the hand cannon as that role. Also, give snipers a chance to have a one shot body shot, if applied to the heart.
The hopeful result:
balance and variety can rejoice in harmony.
I realize these are 2 big changes. They would have to rebalance pve damage, but i truly believe that this would fix things.
In practice we would have a long, medium, and short range option for every slot. I would love to see this tested, but i am not awesome enough to be a game developer on possibly the greatest game of all time. I want each weapon slot choice to be a game changer. I think this change could allow many more play styles, and give each gamer his own flavor.
On a side note:
I think each rifle should look much, MUCH different than they do. They all look the same to me. And also, allow weapon swapping in the tower. Just to show your special on your back would be asthetically pleasing.
