The SMG is usually my weapon type of choice in FPS games, it just seems to fit my play style the best. I'm not saying I was disappointed in the fact that they weren't present, I guess a few of the ARs were borderline SMGs, but if the SMG was actually a class in it's own, it would have added a little more variety. They could be given the classic SMG stats, higher fire rate than the ARs (which I feel in some cases need a fire rate nerf), low range and impact, quicker ADS than the ARs and SRs. Their presence would also cut down on the overdependency on ARs in The Crucible.

I'd love for an SMG class to be added to the primary weapons. They also need to make pistols that aren't revolvers and add grenade launchers to the heavy weapons

For [i]balance[/i] they could have extremely high rate of fire and damage, but insane recoil and short range. I know this isn't Battlefield or Call of Duty, but I think having SMG's with a short range would give people an actual viable choice when choosing their primary weapon and the map on Venus would have been a great place to use it since it's a short to medium range map.

Yeah it would have been cooler if that was the hunter's main weapon and every class had a secondary pistol. They could have even gave each class it's own kind of pistol.
