Solution to make the Hunter Super more viable in Crucible.

Compared to the AOE supers of the Titan and Warlock, the Golden Gun doesn't stand a chance. It's basically impossible to kill a titan while he activates fist of havoc, and you cannot survive; that range is huge-even in the air. The Nova Bomb is just the same. For the Golden Gun? Here's my take on a solution to make it more viable. 1.I think that the bullets should cause a small explosion on impact if the bullet doesn't hit an enemy guardian. Any enemy who is in blast radius of the explosions loses 50% of health and shield per hit. Therefore, 2 explosion hits would kill. 2. Also, the golden gun could make you invincible while you pull it out. I've been killed too many times while activating the gun by some titan sitting around a corner with a shotgun. 3. As the Titan and Warlock supers are capable of killing an entire team in one blast, the Hunter shouldn't be left out. Increase the amount of rounds in the Golden Gun to 4. Maybe 5. Or 6... >:D

  • I think the biggest problem here is the skill distribution. Golden Gun, at 20, has skills that shorten it's cooldown, make it more accurate, increase the range, and make it explode and/or penetrate when it gets hits. Unfortunately, only Keyhole is available in the beta, which is the first major upgrade to GG (accuracy doesn't seem to matter unless paired with range). Titans and warlocks on the other hand have way more upgrades to their supers. Warlocks get the void zone on nova bomb as well as lingering void zones, where Titans get aftermath (damage zone where FoH goes off), a long jump for FoH while sprinting AND a talent that specifically makes them harder to kill when using FoH. As a result, locks and titans have much stronger supers at this level because they have several skills that enhance their supers and can't skill away from because they don't have any other options. GG, therefore, seems to fall behind. At 20, this won't be the case, however. A GG with explosive kills, extra range, and penetration has far more killing power than a single titan super from a much longer distance. I can't even fathom how insane it will be if you stack Intellect and take the cooldown talent instead either, making GG the fastest recharging, longest lasting primary subclass super in the entire game. Lastly, I have experienced getting oneshot by shotguns before (wasting a GG) and it sucks. Unfortunately it's just a hard way to learn how not to use the skill. It sucks, but when you come back with a shorter cooldown and longer range, you'll be making up for those lost opportunities and then some.
