There will be plenty of story. We have only tasted but morsel of this wonderful game. Yes, Bungie wants us to 'create our own story' but by this, they mean for us to each have our own experiences within the game. They want us to go talk to a friend or co-worker the next day and say 'you won't believe what happened to me yesterday!'
Destiny is about becoming legend in your own way and style. No guardians experience will be exactly the same.
To conclude, Bungie has crafted a magnificent game that focuses on giving you a story where you can fill in all those little gaps in between the main story with experiences that vary from guardian to guardian.
Thank you to all who read.

As this thread already stated, this isn't about making your own legend, via, "Oh cool, I punched a guy in the head as I landed and killed him." That's great and all, but it's no where near an actual story.

I said it's about experiences. There is a story. As stated in my previous comment. They just want those extra moments where you find something to be unique and interesting.

From what we've seen so far, the story is pretty poor. "Hey, help us do this thing. "Okay!" "Now that you're here, we have something to fight off. "Okay!" "Looks like we won. Let's go back to base and do this all over again, elsewhere." "Okay!"

From what we've seen in the beta, yes. Which means it's a small portion of the story. They want people to get acclimated to he game before they start giving you more difficult tasks.
