I already commented this in response to a post.
"I think it would be a bad idea. It would have the effect Borderlands trading had. You'd get powerful green (and higher) weapons through trading and effectively lose the excitement of a nice loot drop from a boss because.... The weapon in your hand is already better than than nice sexy new weapon that just dropped from the boss you just spent a half hour fighting.
I think it would severely diminish the overall experience **cough**borderlands**cough**"

Trading should not be added at all. While I doubt Bungie will add this due to their comments already made, it would be very disappointing if they did. It would be very stupid to answer someone if they asked you where you got your exotic rifle and all you said was "a friend traded me it". I would much rather say "I earned this from defeating (boss name) with all my friends doing that strike mission in record speed"
-
you should be able to share guns in a clan bank because the amount of times I get snipers from drops that I don't use and my mates who use them a lot don't get them it would be good to put them in a bank that you clan members have access to and be able to use because if you play as a fireteam together a lot you want to share equipment around the fire team you can
-
They werent going to add it in anyway lol
-
I agree, no trading between Guardians. Because if you implement trading, you've got to implement some kind of communication factor, and I don't want that.
-
No u should have to find ur own loot, part of the adventure and payoff
-
Trading? No. Auction House? yeah, that'd be nice.
-
Trading would only be feasible if crafting was implemented.
-
I agree with no trading. It doesn't fit with the game. Trading will just make guardians less unique.

Edited by Skygazer34: 7/25/2014 2:48:24 AMThe possibility of limited-time trading with your fireteam at the end of a mission is really appealing to me. If I end up with a duplicate rare weapon drop at the end of a Strike, I'd happily give it away to someone who has been grinding for it for hours to no avail. This seems like a reasonable solution. Diablo 3 did it, and it works.
-
I agree with not adding trading, but I would still like to see some sort of way to sell items that you don't need anymore instead of dismantling them for small amounts of glimmer
-
I don't think there'll be trades with other players
-
I think trading should be allowed, but anything above green items(uncommon) shouldn't be allowed to be traded over. Those are rare for a reason. I'd love to give my newbie friend a fair gun to use until he's able to upgrade to something that's worth anything. Especially for something like the Iron Banner, where you can really feel the effects of having a much weaker weapon. Trading some lower level items would definitely assist the social aspects of the game.

I started reading the post thinking, " oh, look at this idiot" but after I read it, I agree with you!

Edited by PhilCR: 7/26/2014 2:21:50 AMI'm agreeing with every single post like this... There's too many whining babies wanting trading system because they don't know how to farm a MMO!
-
I don't think that we should have a trading system in play for this game, i mean sure there are other games that do it, but Destiny currently feels fine without it.

Edited by Lord Negatron: 7/24/2014 8:18:20 PMOr they can do like any other game with trading, make the exotic items souldbound/ untradeable. Have the default cost of saleable items, be high enough to reflect the level income. Done. I've also noticed many of the anti trade people keep referring to Borderlands. Play a real MMO and see how an economy works. It adds replay value, also there is a reason most real MMOs have a separate currency and gear system for PvP and PvE, so things like Pay to Win don't occur often. In PvE are you mad some person beat a computer character before you did? Pffft. Borderlands is a 4 player sandbox, stop mentioning it. People saying they rather work for items, and don't want a friend to give them one, once again, you can't if it's soul or account bound. Borderlands is a rinky dink attempt at portraying to be an MMO, with its stats, and color code tier items. Anyone can just give you anything. Yeah, they did that ALL wrong. Calm your nerves...
-
I disagree, trading and auction houses are the back bone of an MMO inventory system. Also bungie has already stated that trading will be enabled, just not at launch because they want to make sure it wont kill the in game economy.
-
Trading or no trading, the game will be amazing. Though I would like to have one, it should be limited like equal value system should be applied when trading

Edited by Mandingo: 7/24/2014 5:36:42 PMSkip to 8 MINUTES AND 37 SECONDS but watch the whole thing, DeeJ is God! You idiots want a trade system ? The game isn't even release and people are making money out of Destiny! People on eBay are selling those 17 free trading codes. Check it for yourself on eBay, some have been remove but yesterday it was all over the place. And you people want a trade system ? BUWHAHAHAHAHA Only way to trade in this game is simply selling a spot in your FireTeam on a high level Strike or Raid. If you want a trade system , go back to your gold farmer / p2w bull shit. Look at Diablo 2, people are trading Forum Gold from D2jsp.org , it is soo big, that people simply ask : FG ? in trading rooms/games I don't wanna play a game that I spent X amount of days , and see some dumb ass scrublord next to me with better gear just because he spend real money ! If you want a trade system , don't buy Destiny, it wont be loss, not even a little one, because the majority are sick and tired of P2W , Gold Farmer and other non sense. Frequent dumb reply : - But I am a Warlock, and I got that cool Titan Exotic helmet , if I coulda Tra-SHUT UP!!!! just dismantle it because you need material to upgrade your gear ! or throw it in your vault so when u gonna create a Titan , you will have a sick looking helmet. - But if we can trade with our Fire Team on a Strike and Shar-SHUT UP!!!!! T> 5$ for all the loot of [Strike/Raid Mission] Not a lot of people know you can buy "pixels" for real money, but think about that famous youtuber and twitch streamer, who will receive tons of donation, earn the best items in the game ... than hit PvP and have a clear advantage over you and your friends and you can't do shit about it. I made a same post before the Alpha, trending for an entire month + reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/28oxr3/please_bungie_dont_do_this_mistake/ https://www.bungie.net/7_Please-Bungie---don39t-make-this-mistake/en/Forum/Post?id=37383119&path=1 (That new Bungie.net update... :(

Edited by Sid: 7/24/2014 5:00:19 PMI think the game will be perfectly fine without trading. The whole reason Bungie originally omitted from including trading (apart from wanting to prevent in-game economy issues) was so that if you see a player with a sweet piece of gear you know that THEY f*cking earned it. It's nice to know that whenever I see a player with a Legendary class item earned from Iron Banner I know that person freaking worked their butt off for it rather than having their buddy give it to them. Same thing applies with end game stuff too. When someone sees me with an awesome Legendary gun I want them to know that I grinded a boss to get it, or that I grinded my reputation up in order to buy it from a vendor, and not that I traded it for something from someone else.
-
How about they give us the option to trade or not and if you don't want to trade you can choose not to? What is it with this forum, I've just started using it since the beta came out and a lot of you ppl seem to not like options. In fact you would rather take away options, so others have to play like you. This thread is just like those other threads about not wanting voice chat and not wanting beta progress to transfer over. Like if you don't want voice chat, Don't Use It. If You Don't Want Trading, Don't Trade. Same as with progress transferring over. Why interfere with other peoples games? you do you and let them do them smh
-
This sounds like a YOU problem, you don't have to trade if they make it that way, you can still have excitement from boss drops and let other people have trading if they want it.
-
I disagree... Better weapons than the one you may of traded to gain, can still be dropped.
-
Borderlands dropped nice loot?, i must have missed that with all the shit drops that had my party was fighting over any decent ones. After playing that shit loot system from Borderlands 2, i'm fking happy to get my own drops. Anyways, they won't flip over the no trading rule. I agree with the no trading rule, people should earn their drops. I would like to trade friends common to uncommon drops(white - greens), but im sure everyone will do ok. Forcing people to change up what they use can open them to different weapons. Trading in this game shouldn't happen, earn your shit weaklings.
-
How about you have to be around the same rank maybe 10 levels behind or over and u have to give them something of equal value either by paying them glimmer or an item of equal value
-
What about you can only trade a rarity for the same rarity. But also the weapons could be sorted into groups by a level that is based on how powerful the weapon is and can only be traded with another weapon in the same level. This would prevent powerful weapons from being traded with weaker weapons. So like you have your starter weapon but you don't like the gun type so you trade it for another in the same level. So to trade it has to be same weapon level, group (special, heavy, primary) and the same rarity. Other things can be traded based on rarity.
