They do drop loot, devil walker and sepkis, you just don't get it till the end screen, this prevents people from going oh hey I got the item I wanted from the walker, good luck with sepkis I'm out...

That's not them dropping the loot, that's a reward for completing the strike. I've beaten the Devil Walker twice by myself on explore and didn't get anything either time.

The problem i have with this is that i have been disconnected from the server while playing the mission which means i don't get the loot. Which leads to a a large amount of frustration, because we had just gotten sepiks down 1/4 health and then i disconnected. So is it fair that i lose out on my loot because i disconnected for one minute?

I see your point, but the reward screen at the end is pretty boring and feels unrewarding

I agree it's not as rewarding the immediate gratification of getting it right away, but it does serve its purpose, and who knows, it could change
