There is a difference between someone bad in PVP and someone not skilled in PVP. A "Bad" PVP person is the a-hole that runs from the objective before it's captures, leaves a teammate to fend for himself in a firefight, is there to do nothing but stroke his K/D, aka the lone wolf type.
I don't care if you are 1 and 30 on my team as long as you are playing with the team and legitimately trying. It's a team game and people should work as a team. Teams overcome a single persons skill level.

After reading all these posts I'm a tad more relaxed about joining guys in the Crucible. Although I still die A LOT, I try and assist guys in capturing and follow the (clearly) better players to provide some backup/distraction.

That's awesome man. We are all here to have fun and if you going to the Crucible is fun then do it! Following the good player to provide support is a great way to get better. You will pick up their habits, add crossfire, create a diversion, help capture points, etc. Like I said, it's a team game. You'd be amazed what happens when you get 6 people working together on a common goal.

this not-yet-but-one-day-hoping-to-be skilled player salutes you

I like this guy. He's a nice guy.
-
Well said, you are one of the good ones

I am lucky enough if I survive to make it to my team members, the First person pvp is really difficult for me at the moment. I feel so bad when get in, I try to help... the last one I was in I was at least useful when I got a turret to kill with.... I just want to know how the heck I get one shotted so fast, and I can never find a good spot for sniping... I am great at sniping when I can do it.

If there are 3 people at a flag to capture it and a person goes on to defend it from other places or go for another flag it is fine. If he is the only one on the flag and leaves so it won't be captured then he is a bad player. I don't like it when people do that.
-
I agree, you don't need more than 3 people to take a point.
-
Well said sir

I need to play with this guy he has exactly the same philosophy as me! What system are you on?
-
Thank You! Good Lord. I like k/d but its not the end all be all to me. I hate being on a team that is all lone wolf. I've even been accused in other games, not necessarily Destiny, of kill stealing when legitimately I was just trying to help and be a team player. Game types like control, you have to work together to win, but you see these other players running around like chickens with their -blam!-ing heads cut off shooting at everything...Just makes it no fun at all...

Dam! Im on Egg box one !!

I am that type of player, however I dont do it to stroke my K.D. If my team mate is in a firefight I stay and help, but if there are 4 people there and the other team is rushing b while we take a, should I not go the nova bomb the shit out of them so as to save it? If people just run off to kill people thats bad but if they are trying to save a CP then its not, unless you're in a firefight.
-
First off, go team Warlocks! Second, in battle there is always going to be a judgement call. PVP is situational. You leaving one point to save another is different that running to a capture point killing the defenders and them running to the next battle area while leaving the greenie behind to take the point alone. You were taking one point to begin with so you are already not in the bad PvPers category, in my opinion.
-
haha, I hate when players leave you when capturing a base.
-
It's ridiculous for people to leave before capturing it. The team gets 75 points per person present when captured...
