I'd love the option to see a third-person view of my character in combat areas - even if it disables combat features while inside the view. It'd be nice to explore and check myself out in full armour every now and then without going into the menu. I used to do that quite frequently when exploring in Skyrim, even though I fought in first-person. Anybody else want to see this? It's a small thing, but it would be cool nonetheless.

It shouldn't take much work at all since they have third person view on the tower.

I think that is a fantastic idea cause of how easy it really should be. Give this post a poll, it should gain more attention.
-
I agree. 3rd person view would be great.

agree

It might give players an unfair advantage in the crucible -- such as peeking behind walls or corners.
-
Technically, this already exists in the form of the emotes. More emotes would be nice and I think what you'd want is a flex/pose emote just to view your gear. If you mean as a run around and play mode... While I personally prefer TPS over FPS, I don't think they should change it. It's a FPS game, let it be a FPS game.

Yassssss!!!

Edited by nolsxiii: 7/20/2014 1:57:14 AMAnd the options to combat with or without helmet! agh helmets may be ok looking but I don't want to be wearing one the whole damn time while out in missions. (helmet hair?lol) also i think it would be nice to fight without one even though you can't see your head 90% of the time besides specials and emoticons. just the option to equip or un-equip gear would be nice. if not, then oh well.

Please add third person
-
No, simply no, do not put this in, if you have the ability to turn into third person when ever you want you will have people looking around the walls all the time, somebody could be hiding behind a box and looking over the box to see who's coming around the corner, this is not how the game is designed to be played, don't do it.

I agree but only for missions and free roaming because it would be kinda cheap in the crucible.

You can always dance in the middle of battle :)

Anybody who agrees with this isn't very smart. Everybody needs to have the same camera view. EVERYBODY. No if's, and's, or buts. The people in third person would have a ridiculous advantage over the people in third person. It's an FPS with competitive multiplayer. No way should people get a wider field of view with a toggle.
-
I think it's a great idea but it shouldn't be available for pvp ya know, but is love to go exploring In third person and battling bosses
-
Competitively, no. However if you were able to make it an option, it may be okay, I know a few TPSers who prefer it over FPS.

Edited by christ4life7: 7/20/2014 5:53:37 AMI would like a third person view to get an awesome screen shot but having it in fighting and multiplayer is deal breaker for me

I wish they had made this a third person game like they had talked about early on. Its too bad they changed their minds, the customization lends itself to third person. However, I think its too late to change it now, the game has been designed around first person combat. On a side note, I would like to see the third person view in the tower polished up some. With like a turning around animation and sensing when the character is up against a wall so the characters seem more fluid and alive like in Last of Us.
-
I think people don't understand that he's talking about story mode and missions only. Obviously this would be ridiculous in PvP.
-
It must be added!

Yes Couldn't agree more

Yeah guys, I do mean as a story/explore option only. That said, gestures allow you to see in third person during crucible games, so does it really confer an advantage? Here's another idea: a permanent pose, as opposed to brief gestures. A standing one. The only way you can currently stay in third-person in an environment is through sitting down.

I just hide behind a wall and dance in pvp to see if anyones coming and blow up there faces with so telekenetic shotgun ROUNDS HAHAHAHAHAHA

Can I touch your left nipple IRL?
