I hate musicals with a passion, so I generally don't hold Disney films in as high regard as most. But like you, it made me giggle enough times it was worth the watch. Though the songs seemed sub-par even for a typical Disney flick.
I thought Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 was better.

You obviously never seen Billy Elliot, Wicked, Spamalot, Footloose, Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, Lady Pirates of Captain Brea, The Elves and the Shoemaker, Rent, Sweeney Todd, and oh so many more.
-
Seen all but but three. And many more that you didn't name like West Side Story, Greese, Hairspray, etc, etc. All (for the most part) good movies. And as odd as it may seem, Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of my favorite movies of all time. As contradictory as it all is.. I can like a movie and still hate that it's a musical.
-
I'm not talking about movies I'm talking about the actual musicals
-
Oh dear god, no. I'm really not the "hey lets go to the theater" type. And you'd have to literally drag me into a musical.
-
Ok let's do that I will carry you to NYC if I have to oh my god I forgot Annie!
-
The wife and I almost went to see Wicked when we visited NYC a few years ago. She tried telling me it wasn't really a musical, it was more like a Disney film. We settled for Blue Man Group. (Which was excellent BTW)
-
Ha I play Cards Against Humanity so when ever the Blue Man Group comes up I can't stop laughing for half an hour and your wife kinda lied to you about Wicked not really being a musical and more like a Disney movie
-
Oh I know. She wasn't really being serious. She was just egging me on to go see a show on Broadway.
-
Ok well then I don't know if I can convince you otherwise then.
