Interesting theory. Only problem is the first day of summer isn't until about 2 months from then.

Yes and Bungie did say Summer, however perhaps this is the date they will announce the beta.

I thought they said early 2014/Spring? Also they could do a private beta on the 29th. And/or just playstation platforms get it on the 29th, then everyone else later? Or maybe the 29th will be a new trailer. Either way there's like a 70% chance of something destiny related happening on April 29th.

That is a very real possibility, yes.

There is no such thing as a first day of a season. The solstice and equinoxes just tell us what angle the sun is. Summer is a broad term, and if you want to go off the astronomical way of determining it, summer is between May-early August when the sun is at the highest angles in the sky.

Yea there is actually. The summer solstice marks the first day of summer. I believe it is on June 21 this year

No, that just signals when the sun is at the highest point or origin during the year, respective to the hemisphere. Read chapter 1 of a basic astronomy textbook.

No need to be rude. But at any rate, April 29th is most definitely not summer in terms of the people who are releasing the game, which is the vantage point that matters in this scenario.

I see it in early/mid June. (Also hoping since it's just about when I'll have the money and time to get a new console and destiny).
