Soeicla Media Sharing Annoyance
When replying to a thread's first post, you hit 'comment.' Unfortunately, all that social media sharing stuff- the little white bar that says 'share' with the twitter/facebook - is right above the 'post' button after hitting 'comment.' Therefore I am CONSTANTLY sending my mouse over the little tab on my way to post. Now this wouldn't be a problem, except it seems to have a tendency to not go away unless I send my mouse somewhere else and click. I think that little expandy things because when that social media thing expands, it covers the 'post' button. I would highly suggest... that it did not do that. I mean shoot, half those options we could do without on the initial 'expansion' anyways.

I could only see this being a problem if you've had a lobotomy, but of course it shouldn't happen just for the sake of those poor minds.

Oops didn't see this thread. I have this same problem and it's really annoying. It should be a button instead of a rollover.

Hum... there's a "white bar that says 'share' with the twitter/facebook" logos? I've never seen anything like that on this site. What is going on?

8 RepliesI've literally never had that problem ever, and your descriptions of how to reproduce this effect is incredibly dubious. The white social media button is horizontally adjacent to the comment link, there's no way that you would hit it going diagonally to the post button. Heck, even if your mouse was broken and could only move up / down or left / right in a single stroke, you could just move the mouse down, then right, as opposed to right, then down. In conclusion, I think you've been drinking the cray cray water again Burrito.

I had the same issue. I was able to block it with that adblocplus tool. Not sure what you are using, but I don't miss it.

I would like the social-media-share-feature-thing to only open the drop-down menu upon a click, not on mouse-over. Also, hyphens are oh-so-very fun to use.

Is this different in the Dark theme, or have they changed it already? Right now as I write this, I see "comment" at the top left, above the form and below the OP. At the bottom right, below the textarea, are the Cancel and Post buttons. At the top right, on the same line with the comment, topic, hide, like and dislike links, is the white Share button. Either there's a formatting difference between the light and dark themes, or they've already addressed your complaint :)
