Applebees commits social media suicide
tl;dr
- Applebees fires an employee (read from the original topic) for posting an image of a receipt
- People on Facebook/Twitter/Reddit/etc... are pissed off about it, demand the employee be rehired
- People find out Applebees posted a receipt from a customer on their Facebook account, which they subsequently delete, but not before others get copies of it
- Applebees starts deleting comments, people call them out on it, and they later deny they did
- Applebees starts [i]posting comments to their own story at 3AM[/i] trying to justify the decision
- Applebees starts copying and pasting responses over and over to people, which pisses off even more people
- Applebees starts [i]tagging and arguing[/i] with people on Facebook and Twitter
Absolute PR disaster.

Meh. I haven't been to an Applebee's in years. I'll choose TGI Friday's or Chili's over them at all costs if I want that kind of food. Only thing worse than Applebee's in that price/food sector is Ruby Tuesday. Ruby Tuesday can suck my balls.

AppleBees has pretty bad food anyway. : / Regardless of opinions on food however, what they just did was probably one of the worst decisions they could have made here. Teh puma doesn't expect a boycott with an absolutely huge impact, but they are certainly going to lose [i]something.[/i]

I find it odd that people now will stop going now just because of this, incidentally, the apple bees by me sucks, food meh and the bottomeless fries always comes right after I get my food, aren;t we suppose to have those while we wait, screw you aple bees I'm going to logans for bottomless bread. -blam!- it

4 RepliesYou make it sound like Applebees in entirety did this. All its employees, management, etc. In reality it sounds like 2 or 3 people are to blame: the idiot in control of their facebook, the person who fired the employee, and possibly a person who told the manager to fire the employee. Then again, I could be wrong. All of Applebees could be in on it.
