[b]Chapter One: [i]Part One[/i][/b] The echoing footsteps rang throughout the alleyway as a lone hooded figure trotted quickly to what seemed to be the darkest part of the short little alley, which was currently filled with garbage making it hard to take a few steps without stepping in some disgusting goo. Standing in the darkness the figure stared constantly to the other end, waiting, suddenly a flash of light illuminated the entire lane causing rats the scurry off and reviling the features of what now was clearly a battle worn man, his hood coved most of his head but a few strands of his red hair had slipped out from underneath reaching to his dark green eyes, several scars covered his face all of which had seemed to have been acquired quite recently. As the man’s eyes grew use to the bright light he could tell its source was that of a car that now slowly pulled up to him and parked. The engine continued to run as the driver side door opened and a tall figure stepped out not moving to far from his open door, the figure remained behind the car lights making it impossible for the scarred man to tell who the figure was. “I trust you have the code, Yoozel?” said the figure in a deep manly voice. “I only have it if you got what I want, do you?” answered Yoozel, a renowned ninja working for Bungie, the organization in charge of the vast metropolitan these two characters call home, alongside over a million others. “Very well, show me it and I will fulfill my promise to you. But, if you try and stiff me on this, you will not be very happy.” At the man’s order Yoozel slowly strode over to a nearby trash can and retrieved a titanium suitcase-like-object from within, it was clearly a piece of code, the reflective silver it was made of reflected the cars lights but not enough to revile the hidden man, embossed on the side was the words “Soffish” and below that was a small built-in keyboard. Upon seeing this the man chuckled to himself a very deep and evil sounding chuckle that sent shivers down the spine of even the hardened ninja. “Here it is, now you’ll get it when I have-“ Yoozel never finished his sentence, a shot rang out in the alleyway, a shot which hit Yoozel square in the chest, gasping for air he used his last bits of strength to press a hidden button on the bottom of the piece of code that would delete it, but alas he collapsed and died there that night with the fear of realizing the terrible deed he had just done. ----------------- “Beep, Beep” The high squealing of new message in his PM box awoke Gnome from his slumber, as his eyes focused he stared upon his apartment, cramped and messy the place was coated with books that were haphazardly thrown about. He staggered over to the source of the obnoxious beeping and opened a new message from SketchFactor, the most powerful man in all of Bungie city, second only to Achronos. The message read: These messages had become expected as Bungie set in place a series of updates, they dubbed them “Hot-fixes,” to the current code that the city ran on, it made everything run, it provided security and most of all it gave its inhabitants all the necessities they need to survive, without the code everything would collapse into chaos and within hours all living things will cease to exist. Gnome, still half asleep, simply disregarded the message. He strolled back over to the nearest soft furniture, which happened to be his couch, and passed back out.
