The Posts Theory

Well, I had a huge project going about the posting habits of the Flood. Then I decided to stop (I had a ton of research) since none of my experiments could really be considered that valid because of all the variables. Then I realized that I could post one test. The results are interesting! Excerpt from “The Posts Theory” by Douglas Brown Member Popularity These tests will see if people post based on the thread maker’s popularity. Both threads are nearly identical, posted at around the same time by different users. Thread 1 By Douglas Brown (Not Popular) The thread seems solid enough, and I tried to make it very open to discussion and debate. I even posted it in the afternoon when there is the greatest number of people. It received zero posts before dying. (how can you die if you never live?) Thread 2 by Halifax (Very Popular) The same basic thread as above. I changed a few sentences (No more than 3-4) and Halifax added his own title and lead-in line. It received 17 posts before dieing. Please don’t think I’m whining, I’d use another less popular person if I wasn’t afraid of offending them. If you’d like to see any more research, just ask. I have some things I’ve gathered just from observing the forums for while, a survey, a list of theories, and that’s as far as I got before realizing that neutral members don’t exist.
