The Great Forum War - The Light Chronicles

This is a story about how the character Light in GeneralJohn1031's story came to be who he is now. You can be in the main story if you PM GeneralJohn or if you post a reply in his thread. Here are some other stories about the main characters. Buster's Awakening- Cold Blood Killa The Von Keshner Chronicles- i_hate_babies The story takes place in the Forums, which is a big city in the story. Light is the character that is essentially against both sides. He beleives Bungie is evil and should be destroyed. The rest of the characters are in a big war with an evil dictator and blah blah blah, but you can read about all that in GeneralJohn's thread. *References: Buster Johnston is a mercenary who will do anything and kill anyone for the right price. He is in GeneralJohn's story as well. Snip3r is Bryan's (who is Light) friend and may or may not appear in GeneralJohn's story. In this story, getting banned is like going to jail and the moderators are like the police. I know that the first chapter is pretty boring and kind of short, but hey, it's my first time writing a story. This is my first story, so don't insult me too hard. Critiscim is welcome, though. ________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 1 Buster Johnson checked the note saying to meet up to make sure he was at the right address. He was standing in front of an old abandoned thread which hasn't been used for years. He slowly walked inside with his knife drawn, not knowing what to expect. "Don't be afraid," a voice called out. "We just want you to do a job for us." "You?" Buster asked. "I'm a little suspicious of why you would want me to do something for you." "Business is business," another voice said casually. "And if you do your job right, there will be quite a sum of money for you. 50,000 Microsoft Points to be exact." Now Buster was interested. "All right," Buster said. "So who do you want me to hit?" It was a beautiful day in Forum City. Bungie General was bustling with activity; crowds of people were discussing in threads and socializing. And no spammers or Recon freaks in sight. That's just how Bryan Russel liked it. Bryan was average height and skinny. He was slighly pale and always had an expression like he was thinking. He also had a strong sense of justice agiast criminals. Many of his friends expected him to become a famous individual. He had already created succesful threads, one of which got stickied. Bryan decided to go into a bank to withdrawl some Microsoft Points. There was a fairly short line in the bank, so Bryan expected to be out soon. Just as it was about to be his turn a man in a ski mask busted in. He had a pistol in his hand. "All right!" he shouted. "Give me all your Microsoft Points if you don't want to get killed. Everyone else get down on the floor!" Bryan looked over at the robber and simply stood still. "Hey! I told you to get the f*** down!" the crook shouted. Bryan swiftly punched the robber in the gut. This enraged the crook greatly. He kicked Bryan and shoved him onto the floor. He then pointed his pistol at Bryan and cocked it. Bryan quickly rolled out of the way as the robber shot. This time the robber grabbed Bryan and put the pistol to his chest. Just then a couple of moderators busted into the bank. "Don't shoot!" the moderator commanded as he pulled out his glock. The robber quickly decided to aim his gun at the moderator instead. Both of the mods shot the crook in the head, and Bryan dropped to the ground with his lifeless corpse. The mods asked if Bryan was okay. "Yeah," Bryan said, stunned. He quickly snapped out of it and made his withdrawl. After that Bryan decided to just go home. Bryan enterd his apartment and went on to his computer. After checking his messages, he put on a pair of high-tech looking gloves. This was his new invention, which allowed him to go on the internet wherever he wanted, along with a program to make the gloves work.. He moved his left index finger and a screen popped up in midair in front of him. "Now," he said. "Let's see if I can upgrade this to use hacking programs on it. He pressed a small button on the side of one of his gloves and it opened up. "All I need to do is insert this chip, and I should be able to create my own hacking software and access anything," Bryan said. "Maybe I can enlarge the hologram image, too." Suddenly Bryan had an idea. It might get him in trouble, but just maybe he could pull it off. "I'll just change the connection to the city's mainframe." Bryan typed on the floatring screen and clicked enter. A code pulled up on the floating screen, and Bryan looked astonished. Just as he was about to continue, his phone rang. He picked it up. "Hello?" he asked. "Bryan, you have to come see this." Bryan recognized this voice as Snip3r's. "I'm on the outskirts of town by Stosh Blvd. Hurry!" Minutes later, Bryan was standing next to Snip3r in a grassy field. "What is it, man?" Bryan asked. Snip3r just walked over to a spot where the tall weeds had been cleared. Bryan looked down at the ground and was suprised to find the dead body of Reiginko. "Wh-what?" Bryan looked even more pale than usual. "When did you find his body Snip3r?" "Right before I called you," Snip3r repied. "I was just out off-roading on my mongoose when I came around him." They were silent for a while. Snip3r finally asked, "Who do you think would do this?" "Someone mad at Bungie, or maybe someone who wanted to be known by killing a higher authority," Bryan replied. "With Reginko retired, it would be all the more easy to kill him." "Well," Snip3r sighed, "I already called the mods. There's not much we can do." Two police cars pulled up with mods in them. "I'm glad you're here!" Snip3r yelled. "The body's right over-" One of the mods pulled his pistol out and aimed at Snip3r. "Put your hands in the air!" he shouted. "You two are banned for the murder of Reiginko!" • Don't worry, I've thought of something to make him less powerful. Plus, Light isn't the leader of anything really. There are just people who know someone is targeting Bungie and agree. Light is also slipping ads into the classfields. The last chapter! And please, GeneralJohn, if my character dies, make it brilliant and beautiful. No "'Die sucka!' gets shot in head" bull crap, please. ________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 5 "Things are getting bad, gentlemen." Achronos was standing in front of a select few Bungie Employees and Ninjas. Most of them still couldn't believe their leader would appear in front of them on such short notice. "And my being here certainly proves that. It seems that all of the Recon groups and spammers have increased dramatically. And we have this member who calls himself Light who has already killed 3 Ninjas and 45 moderators, including Recon 54. And if I'm correct, this killer was able to hack him." "No offense, but what's so important about Recon 54?" questioned stosh. "There's a reason why he's called Recon, you know." "You-you couldn't possibly mean?" "Yes. He was the keeper. And now whoever finds out where it is hidden will have complete control over all of Forum City. They may very well become a God." Frankie exited the Conference Room with all the others and headed straight for the bathroom. He washed his face in the sink thoroughly. If Recon's been killed, then it's only a matter of time. Plus, that Light guy who killed him could kill one of us, too. I wonder who will be next? He got up and looked in the mirror. Yes. I do wonder who? Frankie paused. Someone had just spoken to him. But who? It sounded like it was coming from inside his head. Obey me. Frankie suddenly felt a surge of pain flowing through him. No! I won't be controlled! My. You have a strong will. It looks like we'll just have to break it. Frankie fell onto the floor in pain. No! Stop!! Aaaaaagh!!!!! Yoozel suddenly opened the door. "Hey, Frankie, what're you doing here?" Frankie was standing upright facing away from him. "Hey.... Frankie?" "Oh, I'm just fine," Frankie replied. He briskly walked out the door. Excellent. You are now serving for me. Now listen carefully.... The next Day Achronos walked into the Conference Room with a serious look on his face. "What did you call me for? It better be important." Yoozel was staring at Achronos. "Oh, it's important, all right." "What's wth all the serious looks?" Achronos joked. "Did I miss a birthday party again?" SketchFactor and Shishka put handcuffs on him and pulled out pistols. "What's going on here?!" Achronos demanded. Frankie walked up and pulled out documents. "You're being banned for leaking top secret information and working with Light." "What?!" yelled Achronos. "I did no such thing!! You don't even have proof!" "On the contrary, we have documents pulled from your computer and hardware information showing you made direct contact with Light and helped him hack into our mainframe. Take him away, and make sure the media doesn't find out." Achronos was still ranting as he was being dragged away. Fools! Soon you will all get what you deserve. Meanwhile, Light was in his underground chamber. "Cut the head off the snake, and the rest of the body dies. I don't even have to bother with all the rest of Bungie. If just one person knows that Bungie is leaderless, mass riots will take place everywhere. I'm sure some other people dedicated to my cause will react as well. This is all going according to plan." Light pulled up a holographic screen and began to type when he noticed something. "Eh? What's this?" He clicked on a file he hadn't seen before. This file…what is it? It couldn’t have been added recently or I would've noticed. That means it's been here the whole time. But I've never seen it. He clicked on the file but it said "access denied". This should be interesting. Light clicked a tiny button on his gloves and typed on the computer. Random codes began appearing on the screen. Come on. Come on. Again the file remained access denied. Then it suddenly changed to "access confirmed". Let's see what's in this, eh? Light opened the file. In it was another file that simply said "Recon". Recon? Why would Bungie hide a file about Recon? And why would they go to such an extent to secure it? Maybe I'm seeing this because I hacked Recon 54? Light slowly clicked on the file. As soon as he did, the screen disappeared, and his gloves crackled with electricity. "What!?" Light screamed. the gloves exploded into pieces and fell to the floor. How could this happen!? I didn't detect any virus link before I opened the file! All my work! All my power! Completely gone!!! Light dropped to the floor and began frantically searching in the rubble of his gloves. All he came across was a computer chip. He smiled. "The hacking system is still here! My power still remains! You think you could have beaten me Bungie? You are cowardly fools! I'm going to obliterate every last one of you!" Light started to laugh maniacally. "It will be easy to rebuild this! Only a matter of days! Then you will pay! Ahahahahaha-haha!!!!" Six Days Later "It's complete," Light said with a sinister smile. "It may have hurt some, but now I don't even need a computer screen!" Light pulled the back of his hair to reveal two chips implanted in his neck. "Now I can destroy you without even moving a finger!!" His eyes began moving as if they were reading text. "Wha-what! I can't access Bungie mainframe! Even my new system can't hack it!" Light was hysterical. How is this possible?! After I clicked on the file, it must have installed some sort of cookie! No, the gloves exploded. And even my old system should of been able to detect that. Suddenly he realized something. But I still appear in a holographic disguise! That means I can still hack! How is this even possible? I can't access the mainframe's content, bu I can still hack!? Light had a wicked smile on his face. "Fine, then! This will only make things more.... interesting. Bungie will fall, but now, it seems I'll get to have more fun!" Light was laughing now, but it was a different laughter than before. "This is getting VERY interesting! This is just going to give me a little more fun while I'm destroying you, Bungie! First off, to see if I can still hack someone! How about my dear friend Frankie!" Light closed his eyes and concentrated. It will be harder without Bungie's information, but I think.... aha!! Found you! Can you still hear me, Frankie? There was a short pause. Yes. Good. Be a dear and leak the information regarding Achronos to the public, now will you? Understood. That's all for now. It seems I can still hack anyone I please. But without Forum City's mainframe, I may not be able to hack a stranger. Time to conduct a test. Light hopped up and climbed a ladder up to the surface. He was in an empty field. Now that I can do anything while looking like I'm simply standing, I don't need to hide anymore. Especially while I can change my appearance. Light changed into a middle-aged man in a tuxedo and walked into the city. How about that woman over there? If this works, she will walk over to that bald man and punch him in the face. Light watched as the woman simply kept walking. Damn. Just as I suspected. Time to conduct another test. Light walked up to the woman casually. "Excuse me, ma'am, but do you have the time?" he asked. "Sure," the woman replied. "It's 2:30." "Thank you. May I ask your name?" "Oh. It's Rebecca Jones." Suddenly the woman turned around and punched a man in the face. She then ran away. So I was right after all. I'm going to need a name to hack someone. Considering most people share names with others, I'll most likely also need a face. And since I don't have Forum City's mainframe's information, it may also take longer to hack people who are farther away. This only makes things more interesting. Light walked over to a vendor and put in 20 Microsoft Points. A news article came out. The headline was "Von Keshner Takes Over Another District". The article showed a picture of Von Keshner's face. Hmmm. Von Keshner. I certainly don't want any competition. Light closed his eyes and concentrated hard. What? I can't find him? Unless....Von Keshner is just his alias! This guy might become a problem. It's probably nothing to worry about, though. All corrupt peole will die in the end. Because in the end, justice will always prevail. [Edited on 03.05.2008 7:00 PM PST]
