How does the B.net Community feel about Waypoint?

I'm not here to flame. I just want to know how the community feels about Halo Waypoint. [Edited on 09.26.2012 9:06 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: spartain ken 15 Their forums are painful to use. Many people I have talked to have only played Reach as their first (and only) Halo. Not a big deal, but they then say they want Halo to emulate cod. By 343i adding perks/etc to Halo 4, they are praising 343i for making innovations done by every other generic shooter. The forums are extremely slow and bloated. The moderation there is equivalent to soviet Russia where you literally can be banned for going against the main opinion. I have had many threads deleted, locked, or merged.
^ This.
Posted by: burritosenior Bingo. So the other day I made a thread there. I ask them... I ask, 'Why shouldn't I cancel my Halo 4 LE preorder?' You know, because of the whole controversy with the season pass getting you not only the same stuff except for a case and the 'specializations' for five dollars cheaper, but also adds in armor permutations the LE DOESN'T have (which 343 implied they would charge for separate purchase later). I could get all the same content except a case and specializations for $15 cheaper if I cancel my preorder and go with the Standard and the pass. Knowing the community is immature, I deliberately put in multiple times 'I have no yet decided and I WANT to be convinced to keep it.' And behold the replies nonetheless: Tons of 'WHY ARE YOU POSTING THIS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR ATTENTION GO AWAY WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU YOU'RE JUST ONE PERSON STFU' posts. Their community is immature and their moderation is horrid. The moderators don't know how to moderate. They make Qbix look like Duardo. (:P) In addition? I can't even type. I type so fast their textbox can't keep up with me. So every five words I have to STOP typing just so the text can catch up to me. It's ridiculous. Add that to how the website in general is slow and page loading is hit or miss? The waypoint forums are no good. Not at all.
^ Also this.
Posted by: EAGLES5 Im not a fan. I gave them an honest and fair shot when they came out. Posted a bunch in fact. Then i stopped using it. Went back recently to try again. Still wasn't a fan. I dont like the set up. I dont like the community.
^ And this yet again. To sum up what was said in one of the posts I quoted, they will literally ban you for most anything. I include here my last message sent to Waypoint "Mod" staff disputing my latest ban.
I disagree with the nature and reasoning of this ban. What I said in my Forum post is not flaming. Nor did I bypass any of the filters or other security measure of the site or Forums. I expressed my opinion (in an admittedly heated manner), and told him that he needs to provide proof for making such a claim. Yes, in my opinion he was being extraordinarily arrogant in his assessment. Just because I called him a name, which was edited out by the censorship filters, is not flaming. Because I called him arrogant, when his post was laced with arrogance, is not flaming. It's called taking someone to task for their words/actions. you make a claim, you need to provide proof. Simple. Are we really that afraid of people getting butt-hurt over words? Are we really so scared that someone's feelings might get hurt? I will constantly disagree with your description of this post being flaming. YEs I called him a name, but I backed it up with discussion points and called him out to provide proof of his claims. That's driving discussion, and what was already a heated discussion at that. Had I just called him the name and told him that he was being a stupid-head, then that would qualify as flaming. But we're adults, we're not five. We don't need to have oppressively vague definitions of what is or is not rule-breaking in order to keep our precious kindergarten-level feelings from getting hurt. Nor do we need rules so vague that most any post could qualify as any infraction, which is where 343's rules currently sit at. But you guys have your little -blam!--fun party here. I don't forsee myself visiting these Forums again. I'll only be here for stats. Even then I won't look at that very often as this site is vastly inferior to... every other website. Even fan-run Halo site are operated better than this abortion of a site. So have fun on your fail of a site with your autocratic, fascist, abnormally vague rules.
